Âchille, thank you so very much for showing these knives! They look fascinating with the modern materials. I really enjoy the photos that you share with us of them, and always perk up a little when I see a new post from you :)

Hi Sitflyer, it's always a pleasure to share about our passion :D

Here is my everyday knife :

Best all.

I know this is a pretty old thread, but I would really like to obtain a pattada.... I won't be traveling to Italy, or Europe for that matter, anytime soon. My Web searches seem to come up with ones that are either incredibly cheap or incredibly expensive. Could one of you direct me to a website or maker that is more middle of the road and ships to the US?

BTW, thanks for all the pictures! These knives are beautiful!

The thing is, these knives are either production made (outside the island, to be sold to tourists who come here on holiday, and often of low quality or drifting from the original pattern) or handmade by knifemakers here, therefore more expensive. Most knives pictured in this thread (and in the "Sardinian connection" thread) belong to the second group.
I know it's not easy to get one in the US at a fair price. Sardinian knifemakers work mostly for the local market, and most of them don't even have a website (let alone a website in English :D). There are ways though...
