I totally already thought about that Dex haha! They'd make a killer pair.
Really been trying to pry my daughters away from her since she's batoned with it but she ain't havin it. I've done all but threaten her and no go. I'll def let ya know when I get a game plan.

How's this for a plan of deceit and subterfuge?

Tell your daughter that you will get her a newer better one - one with grind job fully finished if she gives you the old, unfinished one AND cleans her room, mows the grass and washes your car. Negotiation tip/practice point: the room cleaning, grass mowing and car washing could be throw backs in exchange for financial concessions such as in lieu of birthday money or what not, just to keep her eye off the ball which is, of course, the saber ground 16.:cool::rolleyes:

Ha, when logic fails he resorts to name calling. I guess the feeling is that I like the full flat much better and I already have 1 user sabre grind, so why make another user. I'll leave it to my kids.

I understand it if you have multiples...
My issue with safe queens is I have no will power.
I have tried but I just can't help myself.

Haha I wish. She was onto that from day one. As I type this we're otw home from an awards program where she took home the 6th grade science award. She's too smart for all that... Good effort tho!

Just playful banter...Faler is about as far from a Hipster as you can get. I'm lucky enough to have spent something like 8 gatherings with him and I've never learned more bushcrafty skills from anyone.

I'm not a "safe-queen" kinda guy, and I don't consider myself a "collector" by any stretch. I'm definitely a user and abuser. But I agree with you in this instance... if I had a sabre 16, I'd leave it alone and keep it as-is, just because they're a neat slice of Becker history and AFAIK KA-BAR isn't making any more of them.

Not that there's anything wrong with using them, modding them, using them again, beating on them, using them some more, etc... after all, it's called "Becker Knife & Tool" for a reason... knives are tools and they're meant to be used to get work done :)

Smart kid! She will carry the experience and memories of using that knife with her for a lifetime, and that's worth far more than any particular chunk of steel, no matter how rare it is. Getcher own dang sabre 16, Pops! :D

Yes, you do. Beckerhead Gatherings are like chocolate... it's fun to read about how good it is, but actually experiencing it for yourself is a whole 'nother level of awesomeness :)
 
Ok I think I need to just start ordering as many 16'sas possible until a sabre or two come in haha

Did you submerge the whole blade or just wipe on with cotton ball? Got details on exactly everything you did?
