Sad Umnumzaan Story

non knife people are somehow mentally disabled when it comes to knives. The most obvious and simple things just don't seem to occur to them. I share two painful stories:

My idiot ex-friend (not because of this) wanted to see my pristine Blue Bump and carried it out with him to get to his car. Apparently he was like, tossing it in the air and dropped it on the concrete several times, seriously scratching up the anodized handle and scratching the blade etc. Then he thinks he can say nothing happened. When the other friends were gone, he confessed and paid for the knife. Later it was discovered he was just an idiot in general, and now he's gone.

I was chopping wood for a small campfire with my HI khukuri and some friends wanted to chop wood with it. I thought, hey, it's a freaking khuk, what are they going to do. I did give one warning--a lot of the wood we were chopping was from old pallets, so I said, watch out for the nails at the ends of those things.

So naturally one of my now ex-friends (stole two of my ex-girlfriends benchmades later, hence the ex-friend) decided to beat the hell out of some nails, putting large folds in the edge. He handed it back to me, battered and I mentioned the dents (politely) and he's like "that sucks" and went back to the party.

It's the same as many people's lack of understanding of the usefulness of a knife. It just isn't an important item to them. Couple that with a natural disregard for the value of something they didn't pay for, and eventual damage is sure thing.

Sad but true. In my life's experience people that borrow things either break and or damage them or do not return them.

Call me mean as some do but I tell them to get their own things as I do.

In my opinion most people today have no honor or respect of themselves or others and or their property.

You probably could have sharpened it out yourself.

Wow, what a story.
Certainly worth sending it back  not to mention blade replacement...

You should ask CRK to put it in a blister pack. Then, you can carry it around, have that warm feeling that your little fragile amulet is safe and even lend it to oher people without worries.

What's with posts like these? Are they jealousy-based?

Are we really not seeing a problem with folks who still have the same level of respect for other people's property as a 13 year-old boy?

I've let friends check out my iPod Touch. If they slammed it into a table and cracked the screen to "see how durable it was", I know I'd be pretty upset.

Exact same goes for a knife. I don't care how durable it looks, if you tell me you "just want to look at it," and next thing I know you're stabbing it into a brick wall, that might upset me a little.

Lousy analagy there, sorry!

No one uses an IPod Touch to pry things, pound things, take out screws, or chisel and scrape. Most moron's who you might hand a knife to could use a knife for those things all the time.

Moral of the story, don't hand them an expensive knife before you realize that they have no clue that doing the things mentioned above may be outside of the designers intentions for the knife.
