Oh goodie! An excuse to dig through the safe on Sunday morning!

I don’t have any safe queens, strictly speaking. That said, these two get treated gently when they go out, as I value them highly.
Hungarian & OG PITS.

These others sit NIB, not for collector purposes, but because I haven’t had a good excuse to break ‘em out yet.

Waiting to go into service:
DarnDao because hell yeah!
Southard: backup for my 2 users.
Sun & moon: bought as a gift; too cool to give away!
M2LW XHP: This was a Knife Center exclusive, I think. ❤️XHP.
PM2 XHP Wharnie: Best PM2 EVER.
Endura K390: It’s SE brother is one of my heavy users.
N5 LW Salt: I always have a backup Salt, because the one I’m using might wind up sleeping with the fishes.

All of the knives in my collection are essentially safe (or box) queens.

Only a few of them get carried & there's only 1 that I actually use. That's a Waterway that I use in the kitchen as a boning knife.

I've posted pics of almost every knife (Spyderco & otherwise) that I've ever purchased & special group pics of various parts of my collection on BF, including here on this subforum.

In fact, there are 2 threads still on the 1st page of this subforum where I've posted a bunch of pics of them. See: Recent Acquisitions & Pairs/Trios.

So, there's no point posting dups of those pics again here. They're easy to find if you want to look for them.

I have no safe queens. What I do have is a backup for each of my favorites. So for example, my usual is a lefty C36 military. I have two BNIB on reserve should I ever lose it. Since the lefty was out of stock for what seemed like an eternity, I bought the backups when they came back. Same for the GB2. I have a backup im the standard and one in the Jade/Cruwear.

I have no safe queens. If I purchase a knife and then decide for one reason or another that it's too nice to carry, I end up passing it on to someone else. So, my small collection is only of those that I'm actually willing to use/carry. I also do not have any backup knives. If one were to ever get lost, stolen, or broken, I have enough others to replace it in rotation.

What's the point?? Why waste hundreds of dollars on a knife if you're just going to keep it in a safe and not even have it out on display if you're not going to use it?? Chances are if you pass them down someday, family members won't really care or have the knowledge about them anyways. We're a pretty small niche. Carry them, use them, enjoy them!
