Sage 1 vs. Persistence - close photo comparison

My second Persistence just arrived and I was surprised to see that the edges of the liners are significantly more polished than they were on my last version. Looks like Spyderco is bumping the finishing up on the line. Conclusion... even nicer than my first one! And came very sharp right out of the box.

I'd be interested in knowing the date codes on both of you knives. I just got one with a production code of Nov-09 (KI) and the F & F is what you would expect at this price point. A little work was required to get it opening smoothly. Also, it was sharp, but nowhere near as sharp as my Sage or Endura, etc. A few minutes on the Sharp maker changed all that. I did notice the grind is a bit uneven and that it must be close to 11-12 degrees since the Sharp maker at the 15 degree (30 inclusive) puts a micro edge on the blade. My Persistence shipped tip down. Did you move your clip to tip up or did you receive it that way? I often wonder how Sal determines tip up or down from the factory. I like the knife, it going to make a sweet EDC work knife. I just may need a spare:)

IUKE12... there was no sticker on my first Persistence box. And I didn't check to see on the second box before packaging it up to send off to my friend (gift). When he receives the knife I'll ask him to look for a code on the box of the new one.

I have a Tenacious. I'm one of the guys who complained to Sal on this forum that there needs to be one with a smaller blade.

And now I join the chorus for a sprint run (or make it part of the line!!) in S30V.

Sal, just give me the heads up so I can get the $$ together. I daresay it would bump to the front of my rotation.

Ah ha... Chewy1, so we have you to thank, in part, for this Persistence glee!

Sprint run, sprint run, sprint run.... ;)
