Sage 5!!! Update thread

Figured we should have a place to share any updates people have came across regarding the highly anticipated Sage 5.

I recently found this on another forum and figured I should share the link. Some nice pics of the knife which came from their FB page. Was unable to find anything about date of release. In a few of the shot vids I saw Eric said it would be out mid year or maybe before then???

Its a no-brainer that they would have a compression lock in the Sage series. Anyone who owns a ParaMilitary 2 knows how sweet and smooth the lock is!

This really makes the decision between a Sage 1 and 5 a tough one. They're practically identical, save for the lock, right?
 
The Sage 5's carbon fiber pattern is different than the Sage 1's. I own the Sage 1 and let me tell you how much I'm looking forward to buying this knife. Until then, I'll be waiting for a Sage 2 to come along in the exchange.
 
I'll likely be getting a Sage 5 as well. I'm finding I don't carry my Sage 1 and 3 very often so I'll probably sell those to fund the S5. My Sage 2 isn't going anywhere however.

Yeah, it almost looks like peel ply CF, no matter what it is I'm in. I love my Sages, I'll definitely be adding a 5 to the collection.

I believe you are right. Makes me very happy if is in fact real CF, versus G-10/ CF laminate. Peel ply CF + compression lock = I will definitely be getting one of these!
 
Peel ply CF / Compression Lock / Sage Blade = Winner!!
Hope they make a bunch of these. Sales should be quite good.
 
It looks like the same peel ply CF, that's on the Native 5 sprint.. It's Awesome!
With a 1 here, 3 in the mail, and a 2 coming along with a custom I'm waiting on...
I can't wait to get one of these 5's!
 
I have nothing new to add, other than to reaffirm I will be getting one of these......for sure!!
 
Nice! I have my Sage 1 listed for sale in the exchange and I think this might have to take it's place!
 
This definitely looks like a winner. I personally don't know why Spyderco doesn't use the compression lock in more knives. It's just such a great locking system, and let's be honest, it just makes the knife much more fun to flick. I absolutely love Spyderco, but lately I've found myself buying more and more Benchmades simply because of the axis lock, where if there were more compression lock Spyderco models out I would've bought those instead. I'm not a hard user and my knives are extremely pampered, so to a collector like myself it's a lot about the fun factor when it comes to knives I buy, and the one hand flicking open and closed of both the compression lock and the axis lock is a huge selling point for me.
 
I'm really keen for this one. My most EDC'd folder is my Sage 1.I'm wondering if it will be a nice thin profile as the liners are planned to be nested. Not that my Sage 1 is a thick knife.
 
biggest difference I can see is nested liners, bet it's gunna be a bit more pricey than the 1
