I wouldn't mind paying a bit of a premium for the Sage 5.
I just wished they'd break the mold a bit and churn out a batch with a different steel than S30V.![]()

What steel you thinking? S110V?

Which other Spydercos have peel-ply CF vs the G-10 laminate? Is that whats on the Gayle Bradley and Domino?
I thought peel ply refers the outer layer installed on g-10. Like the Sage 1 and gb1?
You think KC would take a PM3 preorder? haha

Yup, any time you have cf looking scale and not smooth it's laminate
The only cf models I've had are a caly 3, sage1, gb1 and a domino blue cf. I don't think I've had a "peel ply" version then.
the caly does have solid CF no? I must admit that solid CF feels much better then the fake laminate over G10. I'd rather have simple G10 then a sticker of CF over G10.
It can be sanded off. Some people have done this to the GB2, Domino, etc...
I personally don't know why it bothers people so deeply, lol. People ask for cost savings without sacrificing function.
ah I didn't know that. It's not that it bothers so much, I just fail to see the point of having a super thing layer of CF over G10. It's not CF and makes the G10 slippery. Me personally, I prefer Spyderco's g10 texturing. It is just right I'd say. I'll have to check around to see the results of that sanding off of the laminate cf layer. I could do it for my Galebradley 1

Since when is CF not CF? Last time I checked, CF was CF.![]()
yes, but how thick of CF you get in that laminate layer? It's G10 more then anything else. Real slick G10. I have a ZT0770CF which is made of true CF. a couple of nanometers of CF over G10 vs actual CF scales are worlds apart.
I truly fail to see why anyone would want laminated g10/cf over simple solid CF.
Just because the CF layer on top of the G10 is thin doesn't mean it isn't "true."
It just means it's thin.
It costs less.
