SAK addiction

Hey SAK guy what would be the most confortable way to carry a pioneer? I see you have a lot of neck sheaths.. Do you like the pioneer loose in pocket too?

:thumbup: ALOX addiction is hardcore......:D

Most of the time a kydex necker sheath is the way to go but since I wear overalls, it carries fine my front bib pocket too.

Where do you guys find the dark green or orangish looking Alox models??? Like to grab one of those, depending on what's included in the knife, more a Victorinox Pioneer Harvester kinda guy for it's tools.

Probably Swiss Bianco...he has a forum here in the manufacturers section.

I'm fixing to move end of this month...you don't realize how many SAKs/knives you accumulate until you pack them up out of the dresser drawers they were stored in!!

Yep, I love the SAK's for their uniqueness, carry a couple in my pocket, plus a couple in a small bag and the Swiss Tool in my computer bag, so, I'm pretty flush with SAK's ;)

Here's a shot I put up in today's carry, has SAK content;
The Alox is a Pioneer Harvester which is very handy, has a saw also which I've not used much yet, but the hook gets a lot, as does the Awl, the main blade is my 'food' blade so all I ever cut with that is just food, safer that way!

The newest SAK to join my collection is a vintage 84mm Tinker. And when I say vintage, I mean vintage. No keyring, drop point secondary blade, and a square screwdriver with can key slot.

Here's a tip, find a younger guy or gal and give them their first SAK. This'll feed your addiction more than you think. I bought my brother a little lock blade buck and it's really opened him up to the Hobby. Plus it helps make room for you to add to your own collection.

I've sort of done that already. Thanks to my efforts my little sister is the owner of a Huntsman, Spartan, Waiter, and Classic SD. Not that she cares much about them. She'll use one of them whenever she needs a knife, but I have to constantly remind her to stick one of them in her pocket whenever she heads out for something. She appreciates them, but she's not very enthusiastic about them.

I have 15-20 right now in my 5 years being into knives, only 2 of them have been working years. So money hasn't always been in my pocket and with my gun addiction, rc cars, music, machining, auto mechanic, and many more hobbies, money is still sorta tight. I try to give each hobby and equal opportunity. I really think my hobby is having hobbies.
Anyways, I can only locate about 10 SAK's just off the top of my head, I've given some away too. At first it was about finding the perfect tool, then while that was going on, I was buying off ebay getting ones I find to be cool then I came across one specific model. The Compact. It's my almost perfect sak. If it had a reamer instead of the corkscrew it would be totally perfect as far as a SAK goes.

SwissBianco is a mighty enabler for SAKoholism:

Was carrying the blue Mechanic for the last month or so before switching to the black Alox Pioneer. If only Alox allowed the toothpick and tweezers... oh well, good reason to augment it by always carrying a Classic SD. :D
