SAK ATTACK!!! (warning: lots of pictures)

Hows the corrosion resistance of the swiss tool? is it made from the same material as the sak blades?

can they take saltwater abuse?

They hold up very well :D Its best to rinse with fresh water after sea water contact but I never get any rust on them . Yes it is the same material as normal Saks .

Casares,

Yours with the KL92 is also a Dutch army knife. KL stands for Koninklijke Landmacht = Royal (Dutch) Army.

Dunc5,

That KL91 Vic is a Dutch army model. Did you know that?

You got yourself a nice collection!
Take care!

Revolvergeek. Is the clip on your Trekker screwed into only the scales or is there a metal liner underneath? Always wanted one but the lack of a clip on a knife that size has always put me off.

yobbos1, I can't speak for revolvergeek's but you can drill and tap right into the aluminum liners. I was like you, I didn't carry or even own an OHT because of size and no clip. Finally installed a clip myself and found that it also helps me to leverage against while opening one handed.
I got what I needed to do it from knifekits.com.

Well I have 2 main SAKs. A swiss tool and a climber. The climber has been my edc for 12 years now. Been on every adventure and was my first knife given to me by my dad. Has a real special place in my heart. Still my edc with a spyderco delica 4 and salt 1.

Hi. I am not a tech savy person. Trying to post some pictures of my Wenger Giant Knife, Victorinox XAVT, XLT and Work Champ XL for everyone to see but do not know how to do so. Can someone teach me how to do so? Thanks.

Grandis,

The easiest thing to do is upload your images to www.imagevenue.com. It is free, and the site will automatically create the BBL code to post the pictures here with thumbnail images. You just cut and paste from the website into the 'Reply' box here and it's done.

My latest acquisition. The box label simply says "Hort. Knives 19-030". Very much like a Wharncliffe bladed Gardener, chisel grind, black nylon scales, brass rivets and liners, flawless fit and finish, smooth action, stiff backspring, and razor sharp. Really. The blade is actually a little bit longer than the Gardener's sheepsfoot. A very handsome and slender pocketknife.

Hi Revolvergeek.

Thanks for teaching me how to upload the images via imagevenue. I really appreciate your assistance. However, I must admit that I am still unable to upload the images as the file size is more than 3 MB which far exceed the limit of 1.5 MB. Perhaps I'll ask my colleague to teach me to reduce the size.

Once again, thanks for your help.

Grandis, it sounds like your digicam is set to a really high resolution and/or large image size... You might check your digicam user manual to see if you can set your image size to something medium/small (on the oder of 800 pixels x 600 pixels, or thereabouts) -- smaller images require small amounts of storage, although super-high quality images (>4 megapixels) tend to eat up storage space even when they're small.

Do you have a photo/image editor? This site reviews several free editors for PC. If you have a Mac of recent vintage, you should have iPhoto loaded on it or available in the DVD-ROMs that ship with the Mac.
