SAK can opener, ever open a can with it?

The only time I've ever used the can opener was when I was testing out how well it works on cans, all the cans I eat has the pulling rings.

I use it on a near daily basis. Sometimes I get in a hurry and take to big of a bite, and the screwdriver tip will get caught under the edge of the lid upon retraction, causing the can opener to partially close inward. The locking can openers on multitools are better IMO for this reason, but the SAK is always in my pocket and it gets the job done.

I have also used the can opener on my vic SAK's constantly. I've also used can openers on MANY other small knives and multi tools.

Almost every one, except the one on the SAK, SUCKS. The Vic can opener is worlds better than the ones on most tools. I really hate most of them, but the Vic one works really well.

Have used mine a great many times. I don't even know why I take up space in my pack with a P-38, really.
The one on the SAK works just fine.

I like the design used on the VICs a lot. I even at home when a standard can opener is available because it is fun. I have always been dissapointed by the can opener Wenger puts on it's knives. It will open a can but it leaves jagged edges and using it is not a smooth enjoyable process.

I use mine at least once a week, usually more, works great. I have an electric can opener but much prefer to use my SAK.

I was at a kids Birthday party at a park one time and as always I gravitated to the man circle around the BBQ. The host Dad was doing fine until he went to put the beans on the grill using the time test method of opening the can and putting it on the edge to slowly heat. Well sure enough he forgot to bring a can opener so I offered to use my Swiss Champ, it worked like a charm. He thanked me for saving him from a "I told you so" (we been all there) from the wife...HA HA.

Beans on the grill? Never heard that one!
Then I guess you've never heard The Jeffersons theme song!:D

EDIT: Ok, audio was disable sorry.%$@ing WMG, what possible reason could they have for wanting to prevent people from listening to the @#$ing Jeffersons theme song on Youtube?

Anyways, there's a line about beans on the grill in the lyrics.

Too busy thumping the lizard to Barbara Eden
(Jeannie) and Linda Carter (Wonderwoman) to pay much attention to "The Jeffersons".

Just for a comparison, to open a can this evening I used a Vic opener for half the cut, a Charge for the rest. They were equally easy to use, fast, and with no difference in how cleanly they cut.

I use one on my various SAKS about once a week and they hold up fine. As far as Leatherman goes, their full size tool's openers are ok, but the one on the Juice series SUCKS unless you mod it. It comes from the factory with no bevel whatsoever. Just break out the Dremel or a file and put a bevel on it and then it will work fine, same as the Juice awl, which also comes butter knife dull and needs sharpening. If you try to open a stout can with the Juice without putting a bevel on it, there is a good chance you could bend the opener ect. as it is thinner than the can opener on a Vic Soldier.

haha, we'd have races between my p-38 and a Vic SAK. I can beat most folks w/ a p-38 and S---L---O---W w/ the SAK.

The Vic can opener is light years ahead of anything Leatherman has put out.... they both open cans, but the Vic is way more efficient. Great design
