Do you all mostly carry on your belt or pocket? I have mostly carried them in my pocket but wonder if belt carry would be better.

I only EDC slimmer SAKs like Alox Pioneers or my Tinker so I carry them either in my watch pocket or just buried in my right front pocket with a pull lanyard on them. I sometimes keep a Vic Ranger in my EDC bag if the LM Wave isn't in there.

I prefer belt carry when I have nice holster.
After my holster damaged, I put SAK in my bag. Never thought of pocket carry.

 The SAK (Victorinox Spartan) in a nylon belt sheath on the left side, with a Pocketwrench II miniature pry bar in the sheath with the knife. Single bladed lockback folder in righthand trousers pocket. My family says: leftside belt is McGyver, righthand pocket is emergency folder.

I have belt carried before, but prefer pocket carry. Its just easier (for me), and I already have a giant smartphone and a light on my belt. Carrying a 4 layer SAK in the pocket is not bad once you get used to it.

Pocket: Which is easier in the cold weather season and winter coats with lots of pockets.

In general, I don't like the feel of an unsecured anything in my pockets, not even keys or coins, although I will put up with loose stuff temporarily. There is always a Rambler in my jeans fifth pocket, held tightly there. Sometimes I carry a Charge TTi clipped to my RF pocket, or something else suspended by a belt hanger, but full size multi-tools and SAKs usually travel by belt mounted sheath.

All the SAK's I carry are just one or two layers, si it gets dropped in a pocket. But if there's a lanyard attached, then the end knot of the lanyard gets stuck under my belt so the knife hangs inside the pocket just above the bottom of the pocket. To retireve the knife, I just pull the lanyard out from under the belt and the knife comes up out of the pocket.

Personally, I do both. Right now what works for me is a Leatherman Core on the belt (custom leather sheath, none 'o that factory nylon stuff) and an Alox handled SAK dropped in the left front pocket, with a 3" lanyard. Usually, these are accompanied by a large tactical folder, but that's another story altogether. If i had to jettison all but one, I'd keep the SAK and leave it buried in the pocket.

I have my Climber on my keyring, which hangs off a carabiner off my belt loop. It has a quick release so I can use it without the keys attached and then re-attach it when I'm done.

I carry mine in my pocket with a extended Chris Reeves style lanyard (snake knot style with a nut) so that it stays pretty much strait up and down in my pocket and is easy get out. On my belt I carry my Sporran and my Buck.

I never belt carry a sak and i almost never pocket carry a sak. I made this kydex clip for pocket carry but ended up using it for inside the waistband carry when im at school or when i want to free up my pockets for more knives :D.

To be honest this is the one knife that goes with me literally every where and doesnt get used that much but its just that when i do need it its so darn useful that its gained a permanent spot in the edc rotation.

That's a really cool idea, I never seen that before.

Here's how I carry my alox SAKs. The paracord snake knot lanyard means never losing the knife, and it also acts as a dangler, thus keeping the knife from sitting in the bottom of my pocket. The knife goes into the back pocket of my jeans, or the front slash pocket of my cargo shorts.

I carry my Victorinox Huntsman in my pocket, and my Leatherman KICK on my belt. I would like to eventually transfer a lot of stuff from my pockets to my belt, but that requires some spare money and equipment, and those are both in short supply at the moment.

I have carried both ways, but now I wear a vest. The reason I avoid belt knives is that I like to carry a pistol and the knife gets in the way on the belt. I prefer pocket carry.
