SAK Farmer vs. SAK Electrican Plus

If you could only have one of the above, which would it be and why? (Otherwise known as the great can opener vs. extra blade debate)
 
I vote Farmer just because I like blue scales.

Plus, I don't see the need for the little electrician's blade.
 
I use the can opener alot, so I vote farmer. We keep losing can openers at work, so Ive got alot of use from mine.....
 
dont own a farmer or a electrician but i'd go with the farmer as i refer the can opener over the smaller blade.

but if i can add something else to the party it'd be my new pioneer which gets me through the day quite well.

Farmer is the only SAK I like. To me it has the best variety of tools, I've used the can opener as an improvised wrench for small nuts as well.
 
The Farmer. I use the can opener all the time.
If I could I would get rid of the bottle opener and take the electricans blade.
 
Ive got both. Ended up giving the Farmer to my son. I like the 2nd blade and Ive always got a P-38 on my key chain. I very rarely open a can when I'm not in the kitchen and the small blade is very handy for delicate work. Had to reprofile it though..KV
 
I love the Farmer. The saw has become as indispensable as the knife blade at work. If it had a small file, it would be the perfect pocket tool for me.
 
The can opener is THE reason to pick Vic over Wenger ( I know the Electrican Plus is a Vic.) . It works as a small straight screwdriver, Philips driver and it work on some of the different size of torx to.
It is IMO the most versatile single blade tool I have ever used.
 
I ordered the Farmer last night. I'm really excited. The pioneer comes in black which looks really nice, but I like having the saw.
 
I have a tough time with this question...I have always liked the can opener on my Soldier, but then a tiny blade can be super handy.

Hey, where are you guys ordering your SAKs from, anyway? I have been meaning to get a Farmer, actually.

I am in Canada, if it makes a difference.

I got mine from ebay for 24 dollars shipped on one of their "stores." It may or may not make a diffrence if you live in canada, some sellers only ship to Cont. US.
 
I would go for the Farmer-i like having the can opener - it's very handy! IMHO
The 93 mm ALOX Victorinox are in my opinion,the best from the smaller models.

Felinevet on ebay.
He also has a store on SOSAK website.

I've had decent service from ebay seller JagrFanNJ as well.

Felinevet is in California JagrFanNJ in New Jersey, so depending on where you are the shipping will be cheaper/faster with the closer seller.
 
I like the Farmer.
I'd like the Electrician plus better if it had the combo tool instead of the bottle opener. The combo-tool is a canopener and a bottle opener, like on the Vic Compact.
The lack of can-opener or combo-tool keeps me from buying the electrician.
Sad as i really like the small blade on the Electrician series.
