SAK for edc?

Which SAK is that. Looks like a good combination.

If you like the Micra 1/2 as much as I do, you will love it.

It's a custom from Syph007. I dubbed it the lumberjack XL because it has the same tools as a lumberjack only in 93 mm version. Large blade, combo tool, and saw.

That's it, i'm taking the micra out of my micro organizer, which moves from bag to bag, and put it in my pocket. That way i'll have it when i'm not carrying a bag.
I'll see how that works. Yeah, Pinnah, i see that micra of yours too much around here, so...
The farmer remains in the micro though.
As for the sak as an edc, i carried an alox soldier for a few years, and it served me well. Today i don't carry it that much, maybe from time to time, but that is because i found to enjoy bone covers, carbon steel, and multiple blades in a pocket knife, and have gotten the peanut bug, but as said by others, the sak makes a versatile edc, especially the alox 93mm series. Too bad we are knife nuts, eh Carl ? :D
If i didn't like carbon steel, bone covers, patina, aging, and all that, i would probably be carrying that soldier to this day.
Having a p38 and a sears 4 way (a gift from jackknife)in my wallet, plus a brewzer on my keys, i don't really need the soldier's tools. Ok, the awl is great, but in urban settings i never use that, and for the rest, when i go in the outdoors, like i mentioned, i do keep a farmer in my bag. And that is when a fixed blade comes in play.
But for edc, as a standalone item, no help on the keys and such, the alox pioneer/soldier is hard to beat. I might say its perfect in that regard, able to accomplish quite a lot in a compact package, and as tough as it gets.

I picked up an Opinel #9 and a micra about two years ago because of Pinnah. Still love Opinel's for general no hassle everyday use. For me being in an urban environment, the slim 8 carries well and I do it when I want something super light. The micra and alox cadet that I have both have served well for very light use when in a pinch. And I believe now that if you very seldom need a tool but do on occasion have a need, both micra and Saks work very well. There's a lot more options on some Saks as a do it all. But I usually don't prefer to have the bulk of a big tinker in my pocket. I always carry around a knapsack though, so for me a little peanut sized traditional usually suffices as I keep alox and sometimes a trapper or opinel in my knapsack.

If you find yourself needed a tool often there are much better ways to go than a sak IMHO though. But for very light edc none of the mentioned choices are horrible!
