Any body else here that thinks these are absolutely killer?
It's definately my favorite all around SAK for EDC in the woods or on the pavement.

The Ranger is a good one. Have one in my arsenal.

The Explorer is better. :D Joking. Sorta.

I don' t own one, but I' ve handled them in a local store and thought they were absolutely fantastic. I especially like the huge saws:cool:

I like the Ranger lots , ditto the Huntsman . Just depends on what the day holds in store .

Jake is right about the Fieldmaster being another good one. Pic.

I have always been very partial to a phillips that folds out 180 degrees, like the Explorer has. So much easier to use that way, IMO. But maybe its time for me to re-evaluate. Having a saw would certainly come in handy.

The fieldmaster/huntsman are the perfect sak imho. Just depends if you want the corkscrew or the back mounted philips. The ranger looks like a good one to.

The Ranger is my favorite. It's the smallest SAK I can find with scissors, saw, and full size file.

I avoid any SAK with a corkscrew. I can see how in Europe that'd be useful, but as a non drinker and a guy who prefers water instead of wine while hiking, I don't have a use for it. Large blade, scissors, saw, and philips head= perfect for me. (throw scissors on a Farmer and I'd be all over it).

since i live in a more urban setting i find everything i need is on my tinker, if its not there i break out the gerber compact sport 400 in any sense with that combo im ready for anything

I have a Huntsman and a Rucksak and find the cork screws quite valuable. Nowadays a lot of good wine comes with screw tops but probably not so much in Euro. I've never had to use the saw, though. The ruck is one of my favorites.

For use in the city, I too find the Explorer invaluable. I've carried one for over 10 years and when I lose it I always replace it with another one. Of course I have numerous other SAKs but it seems to be the Explorer I like.

I like the magnifying glass for looking at prints, but dealers in antique stores and photography dealers sometimes freak out a little when I pull out a pocket knife while holding a valuable print. ;)

I also used to think of the corkscrew as a complete waste, and avoided SAks with one. Then I got my Swiss Champ with the little mini screwdriver inside the corkscrew. I've used that mini driver so many times, and I don't even have glasses. Because I've found the mini-driver so useful, I now like SAKs with the corkscrew, and think of it as the "mini driver holder".;) Right now I'm struggling to decide between a Deluxe Tinker and an Explorer Plus as my EDC, but like some here, I think I'm leaning toward the Explorer.

I like the Huntsman for it's good tool assortment in a relatively small size. I also like the 111mm Outrider, which is a locking Huntsman on steroids, basically.

I agree on the Outrider.
If they take out the saw it would be perfect (thin it out a little). Has everything the ordinary person would need.
