As a break from fixed blades and folders I thought it might be fun to see some pics of your SAK's and Multi-tools, they are owned by most of us on here but get very little mention compared to our other sharp tools !!!

I would have to take a bit of time to round-up my Multi tools but I have a bunch of them. I have two different Gerber tools, four different Leatherman tool and the Schrade tool. Along with that, if you count SAK's, I have about thirty of those from the Swiss Champ on down.

The three I use most are the Leatherman Wave for all purpose, the Original 4 oz Leatherman which I use mostly while fishing and the Vic explorer which is always on me. I also love the Trekker and Farmer.

Here are 3 more of mine....

The little Vic Classic Rambler is probably my most used blade...so much for the survival knife talk eh !!!
Yeah I know the Multi-tool is a Gerber but I picked it up for only $10 just after Christmas !
The other SAK was my first knife and the shield is different from the Victorinox made now, it says Victorinox economy on the blade and I just wondered if any of you SAK buffs could tell me when and why they changed the emblem ?

Pitdog,

This may seem like a silly question to you since you are around it every day, but what is the plant your tool is laying on in the first photo? It is quite beautiful and interesting. And as you can imagine, we simply don't have anything like that that grows in our environment here in Kansas. Is it some sort of moss or lichen?

your middle knife's shield looks to be a mid 60s,it was another version used by the company from 61-68, there have been 4 variations on the cross and shield since to company started. the shield as we know it now has been on the officers model since 1909 according to the book by Derek Jackson

Ah, thanks! If it is that, I believe it is an "edible" survival food. We are, in fact, supposed to have that in Kansas after all. I've never seen it though. I must get out and look harder.

Great alox collection, Magnum22, I hope to build one up myself.
