SAK's and Multi-Tools !

Thanks for the link ilbruche, and nice work on the climber. I'll have to skip a couple of fast food lunches next week and use the money to order some of those scales. Looks like a nice easy way to spruce up a SAK.

It would fit in with my "traditional trio" too. Whats the plastic scale version of the farmer? Is there one?

Here is the one I carry most of the time, a SAK lockback. I forget the model....

Is that rainbow of SAK's all vic farmers?

nope, from left to right we have the yellow huntsman, three cadets, two pioneers, a blue farmer, another pioneer, a standard issue, OHT, 2xAA LED, and on top are the swisstool spirit s and deluxe tinker, soon to receive carbon fiber scales...if they ever arrive. i ordered them a month ago.

my main knife (not just main sak) is the pioneer with the lanyard.

pitdog,

I have a Vic Huntsman with that same shield, and without the tweezers and toothpick, same as yours, that I picked up in Colombia about 10 years ago when I was working down there. Mine was new in the box at that time, so it was of recent manufacture in 1998. Don't know the story behind that shield, but I bet some of the folks over at SOSAKonline could tell you!

What kind of large SAK lock do you prefer, the liner lock on the trekkers or the button switch that locks the tension bar (kind of resembles an axis lock at a glance) like on the rucksack?

your middle knife's shield looks to be a mid 60s,it was another version used by the company from 61-68, there have been 4 variations on the cross and shield since to company started. the shield as we know it now has been on the officers model since 1909 according to the book by Derek Jackson

i thought that sheild was wenger. sorry if it's not spelled rite

Absolute joy - other people with an unjustifiable amount of multitools and SAKs. I'll be pointing my wife at this the next time I get told to try selling an old tool before buying a new one!

I've tried to reduce my guilt by passing a couple of tools onto my father. He's a keen digital photographer and I get his cast off cameras for the same reason!

Anyway - more photo's please.
