SAKs - Victorinox or Wenger

Ive had a lot of both since a small kid wengers blade shape as said I do prefer and their shape seems a bit better and feels better in hand but from my experience ive had more breakages with wenger the vic just seems tougher built with no bladeplay like some wengers ive had if you want one to last get the vic blade steel is good on both the first knife I could get razor sharp was a vic

thread is a bit old, but also a good spot to mention that Wenger is going away as a brand and their facility will switch to producing Victorinox branded models

I got my Tool Chest Plus and am disappointed with the developments on the corporate front, as well.

The SAK is solid, though not as much as was the previous one; a 3 decade old model.
  • The toothpick is a joke.
  • The thickness due to the compass is daunting.
  • The loss of the small, <i>very thin/fine<i> blade, replaced by a nail file is THICK!

The pliers' rivet has started rusting in its first month. I have emailed Wenger about it, yesterday. Shall keep you all posted.

I still love Wenger because it is first LOVE and has nothing to do with the head. :-(

More later. Beer and Cheese and some Weed are putting me off to sleep on this lazy Sunday.

Cheers,

VincentJi.
