Sal Glesser's Chris Reeve "Lock 45"

Very interesting design... thanks for sharing this Sal and Deacon.

What I wouldn't give to get a quick peek at Sal's personal knife collection!!! :D
 
I love this knife, seems that the pivot may be the only weak point, incredible design, and to think its from the 70's!

Not sure how well it would work on a four inch bladed knife, but on a knife like Sal's with a two inch blade, thick frame and robust pivot, it should never be a problem. Heck, I'm not really sure how much more rigidity the G-10 or CF side that folks seem to crave on framelocks offers.

Maybe I missed it, but why is it called the "Lock 45?" It is very cool, it is more "integral" to me than the end result R.I.L.
