Sal - please fix "gmail.com" email domain being "banned" on the Spydero forums

I just looked and it seems you have to give your phone number..does that count as getting "invited"?

Funny... I can't seem to see anything like a phone number, closest was a secondary email which is optional or the security question, which can be changed

Edit: Wait, you're looking at the FAQ, with the part about sending an activation code to your mobile, right? I think it's out of date. I used this to sign up, and it worked fine.

My point was the people with Gmail accounts are probably the types of people you want as customers. To ban them is idiotic. That is like banning people wearing suits from a Mercades dealership because salesmen who might come in and try to sell you crap also wear suits, yet a lot of people who wear suits buy Mercades.

Except those people aren't banned, they just contact Kristi directly. Apparently that private website found the chaos caused by spammers needed some clamp downage.

Spyderco seems to maintain a strong and healthy presence out in the world too, knifeforums, britishblade, bladeforums...so I guess it is rather a mute point. Sometimes info gets released here first...sometimes on the home forums, it doesn't much matter we all seem to hop back and forth routinely. Except maybe those with Gmail. :p

This is prbably off topic, but why don't people just use real email accounts and be done with it?
I've changed servers multiple times (AOL/Sympatico/Netscape/AT&T etc etc.) Its is a pain to change email addresses all the time so i've always used yahoo and hotmail. My yahoo address is almost 10 years old and i'm comfortable with it. I don't think of server email addresses as "real", quite the opposite actually.
