Sal - some smaller Spydercos please..

Hi Sal - Thanks! I am really interested in that size range - as would be many people in my part of the woods. I am not so concerned about blade length when out walking the dog and wearing jeans, but want to keep things more "reasonable" in other environments.
I have a Caly3 in CF and ZDP-189, but it is still a 3" blade.
There are times when a little smaller is better.

I'll put in a good word for the Poliwog. The blade is only 2.5" long, but with the big handle on it the knife seems much bigger.

Thanks. I am really interested in a more "traditional" style, with perhaps a 3 5/8" handle or even 3 3/4 if a 2.75" blade. The Kopa is a 2.4" and the Rookie has a 3" blade but with a 3 3/4" handle. I'd like something between these two and not a really big handle. The handle on the Kopa is a little on the small size, but it is fine for slacks, not jeans. The Roookie is good, but I'd like a slightly smaller blade - 2 3/4" would get my bucks....especially if you could squeeze that into a 3 5/8" handle. I'd go for the 3 3/4" handle, but small and discreet is good for some environments.
If fishing, bigger is better. For an office or professional setting - smaller is better.

Between the Kopa and the Rookie that's like 0.5" of difference. Doesn't make much of a difference to me. FWIW I think the Rookie and Dragonfly is just about as small as I'd carry. Now, if they can bring back the Lava in G10 handle that would be nice.

I would love to see a knife that fits between the ladybug and delica

I know there is the dragonfly but it is a choil design and does not sit in the hand like the ladybug or delica

I also know about the rookie, but its lack of a bolster does not fit securely in your hand like the ladybug or delica either

The only knife with this specification, which comes to my mind is Viele 2. It is discontinued, but if you are not in a rush, you should be able to find. Looks gorgeous and nice blade.

Thanks - I have seen this one, but I would like a lockback. If you have ever had a blade close on you by accident, you will understand. I could possibly live with a linerlock, but really like lockbacks - as long as they lock up tight.
I'd probably get one if they made the Urban with a lock.
I'd really like a slightly downsized Delica - perhaps with G10 scales and a smaller handle and blade (3 5/8 or 3 3/4" handle) and 2.75" blade. If they made an Urban with a lock - a Suburban, I'd go for that too.

They use to, it was called the Kopa.

Close, but not the same - I'd really like a little bit larger.

I'm really looking forward to the "Balance" by Ed Schempp, I will definetly be getting one of those when they are available.

You're not the only one. I've got the Caly, Kopa, and Kiwi as well, but would like to have a slim, lightweight gent's folder. The Kopa is great, but dense and heavy for its size, with a clunky clip. I'd like to see something in FFG with a low profile wire clip. The new Dragonfly is close, but still heavier than ideal for a light folder.

I'd prefer a CF version of the Dragonfly, instead of G10.

It's obviously not a heavy knife, in any case -- but I'd love to have a Spyderco that could take the place of something like a Mnandi or a William Henry. A <2 oz. knife is more comfortable in lightweight slacks or shorts, while a heavier knife hangs wrong.

The profile of the Kopa is just about perfect -- I'd just like one that is lightened/slimmed, in titanium and CF with an elegant low-profile clip. I'd pay $200+ for that, especially with a FFG ZDP blade.

I cannot argue with that, I feel the same way.
