Should all sales posts be required to post photos?

Also, I have trust issues with people that don't know how to operate a camera on their cellphone.

If you can't snap a photo and share it with me how am I supposed to trust you...
I'm not quite sure where you're going with this. I can do basic pictures on my cell phone... but I rarely use it to post ads for two image related reasons:
- if I crop the photo, it's suddenly too big to post (not sure I fully understand how THAT works; but I basically get it)
- imgur's mobile site is no longer supported. I was okay with using the "full site"; but that option is gone when accessing via mobile service. One can use the app; but I hated the app & uninstalled it (and tried it again, still hated it, and uninstalled it again). So I have to use my desktop.

When browsing the exchange if I can't see what I'm buying , I simply move on . ;) Call me crazy right ? o_O

One of the most recent iOS updates lets you resize photos on upload which makes it much easier to go directly from taking a picture and having it posted here. It’s a little hard to see - I think you have to select the pics and then a small blue text link pops up at the bottom of the screen - but helpful!

As many have already stated, if there's an ad with no pictures I just move on. That's pretty easy to do. Although I wish everyone would post pictures with their sales, I don't think we need a rule for it. The mods have more than enough to monitor already.

Personally, I'm unlikely to chase links, either. If a seller posts 6-8 different links, I can pretty much guarantee I'm not interested enough to click on them. At the very least, make one image visible in the ad; and put the rest of the images in an album, so potential buyers can access all of them with one click.
This is what I do. Since I usually have several knives to sell, it gives them an idea of what's available but doesn't clutter the thread (there's been times when I have over 10 knives on a single thread - that would be 60 or more pictures on one page). I believe there's also a photo limit so it's really the only option in my case.

It was a foregone conclusion that everyone agreed with my premise that if you don’t post a sales photo you really shouldn’t expect anyone to buy from you. And, about 2/3 of you agreed that it should be required. In all honesty we have enough rules so we can proceed on the premise that those who don’t post sales photos are just hurting themselves.

Strongly encouraged? YES. Mandatory? Nah.. Ive had a number of great dealings with people who don't know how to post pictures and simply put an email or even a phone number to text photos.

On my phone (iPhone XS) I can't upload ANY pics unless I change the photo size to "large" instead of "original size" when selecting images and sometimes not even those upload because its to many pixels I guess or something.
I don't know the kinds of phones other people have or what methods or hoops they'd have to jump through to upload images directly to the site.
I think it should be strongly encouraged to learn a reliable method of posting photos, but I don't think it should be mandatory to post them to bladeforums to be able to sell stuff.

Instead, providing photos itself should be mandatory.
Text em, email em, google doc em, whatever your method, just have photos.

I get the message. Those that can will. Those that don't care make excuses.
This thread is done.
