Great news, I got the Salsa back and it's still in one piece!! Thanks all for all the great notes in the notebook, I'll be sending it off to Sal and Spyderco sometime next week.

The Salsa looks to be in pretty good shape, in fact I think the lock fits now a little bit better than when it was new. In case you're wondering I started this off on 3-18-2002 it's now 9-19-2002 so it's been through 6 months and 12 people from Hawaii, Louisiana, NY, OH, an etc.

You can tell it's been sharpened, but the blade is hanging right in there.

So Act II is off to Canada, sign up here and send me your address via email. The first person in Canada is BobbyB.

Glad to hear you got it back :D

Thanks again for passing it around.

I'd like to get in on the Salsa pass-around now that it's making it's way North! Address on the way by email.

After BobbyB is done with it he can just pass it through the fence to me - where he works right located right beside the building I work in.

me me me! I want in!

I just handled the Salsa this week(finally got them in up here), and though it seems light, It'd be interesting to try out. Size seems right!

Addy incoming...

Normark> 2.5" blade, wide for it's size(lots of belly), and light...

Sign me up!!!

Love to test a knife. Send it to me and we'll see if it can stand up to the demands of the arctic!

jimejet@attcanada.ca (new email address to follow at the end of the month - finally high speed internet... yayy!)

I have only participated in a video pass around (Razor Edge, thanks to pahl), but this whole pass around experience really enhances the community spirit here on bladeforums to me.

In many places it is inconcievable that someone would take a somewhat valuable item and send it off with no promise of ever seeing it again on the premise of people sharing their opinions of the item and then returning it to the rightful owner.

I can understand a manufacturer doing this as they can write the sample off as a "cost of sales". To see an individual do this with a product that they purchased with their own money, and their only return is the knowledge that they shared a very personal knowledge of a particular item (which they liked) with other people is truly remarkable to me.

I'm glad to have participated in a pass around and hope that one day I can contribute a knife (or other object like the Razor Edge video) for a pass around.

All I need to do that is a duplicate of a remarkable product (like my BM943, recently reviewed in a BM941 pass around).

I guess I could send off my small Sebenza, but I don't have a duplicate and i'm pretty attached to the one I have.

Someone asked how this works for the Canadian folks. Pretty much same as before.

You receive the knife and try it out posting your experiences here on bladeforums. Each person tries it for a week or less. Then you send it on to the next person via face-to-face or the equivalent of priority mail with some sort of tracking so we know where it is.

At the end it gets sent back to me.

I'll post a list of people who signed up to this thread in a day or so.

Thanks,

calyth,

Have jjcoolay email his address to me, if he sent mail previously I can't find it.

Thanks,
