Salsa returns: Act II - Canada

It would be interesting to see how the knife looks before and after it's been through the Canadians.

Messy, I would think!:D

We Canadians will stick to 1 week each, eh? I don't know if I can get it shipped to Wyrm, the postage would kill me!!!

I'll post when I get it.

Thanks Dave!

All,

The knife was sent out today, you'll find a little notebook in case you want to write something down, but I'd prefer you post something here. Also the addresses are attached to the notebook.

Thanks,

DaveH> any chance you could add the province or city of the ppl? Just so we can trace the path?

also, where are the reviews going in here?

Dave,
The knife arrived here today. I'll take some pics tomorrow beside some other knives for size comparison.
First thought? It's bulky for its size.
Dave, check your mail.
Rob

I could add names and provinces but I would like to see if anyone objects first.

On a related note, what do you feel about reordering to save shipping time? IMO, it may add some confusion.

You can add reviews here, but it's probably better to start a new topic here or in reviews.

DaveH

I don't mind showing my location - I already do in my profile info.

Reordering is also OK with me. It might cut down some on shipping time rather than shipping the Salsa back and forth across the country.

Alright. My curiosity is piqued. Since it's actually been coined as a "term" in other threads, "Being Salsa'd"... Would somebody please post a piccy of a Salsa for me/us? Thanx!

P.S.: I don't need to be added to the list to test it.

Funny you should ask. I mentioned in my last post I would put up a pic comparing it to other knives for bulk...
I'm sure you all know the other knives in the pic...:D

Thanx for the perfect reply w/piccy. I don't think I'd have much use for this style of knife, but, I agree with the above posts that it is wonderful that we can trust each other with our blades. I think I'll have a few hundred posts in a year or so myself.

My Gerber is akin to #3 in the above post.

Most of my knives are bucks, aside from the ones I'm playing with, beating/abusing for firewood on play-trips.

DaveH, reordering would be fine... at the moment, it goes from Calyth(Burnaby, BC), to Normark(Ontario), back to me(Saskatoon, Saskatchewan), and then to Jim Craig(haven't seen him in the Canadian forum, no idea on location)...

EDIT: oops, tossed Calyth in Calgary for a second...

Sorry guys...

Everytime I've moved, or changed internet providers, in the last three years, I keep changing my user name, cause I couldn't figure out how to change the email address on the forum. Alas, I forgot to put in my location.

Look up. Wayyyy up. I'm in Fort McPherson, NWT, nearly at the end of the Dempster. So I guess this means I'm last on the list:( :D I guess I'm like a red Smartie. :D :D

Jim

Jim, not to worry you're #2 on the Lum.

(Don't let them rearrange it on you :p )

Jim Craig: got to the top of the page, click the user cp button, click edit profile and you'll find how to change your email.

Dave, if you want to sort the list so it flows better thats fine with me but since I am last on the list I dont mind waiting too.

You can list where I am if you like, I already do in my profile.

Actually as for the passaround on the Lum I was thinking that Keith and I are both in Edmonton and a quick handoff would be nice there instead of loosing several days on shipping and such.

Shane

johnclark,

Passing it to Keith sounds fine, by my original list he will get it first. No Matter.

I am sorry:o
For those who are not sure the knives are:
1) SOG Sculptura
2) Spyderco Salsa
3) CRKT Small S-2
4) Spyderco Wegner Jr.
5) Benchmade 705
6) Mitutoyo 6" ruler;)

So far, it's a nice sturdy knife, but I find it too bulky for its blade length. I'll put notes in the book, and probably post pros/cons here as well.
