I have a long connection to the name TSAVO and the name of this knife is one of the first things that attracted me to SAMs work

I have spent some time in this area and what made this area Famous is a tale that makes the blood run cold.

I thought I would make a video explaining the origins of this Blades name

I hope you like it

Thanks Robb

The workers started to believe that the lions were not really lions but two dead chiefs spirits that had come back to stop the railroad from going thru their land

I am sure it was a terrifying time and the balls Paterson and English Gentleman and Officer exhibited

Imagine the poor conditions and utter horror the workers felt

I've been around lions and followed up on wounded Cape Buffalo and I can only imagine the feeling of being hunted by so etching that was as cunning and bold as these two Lions

What an adventure and a nightmare rolled in one :)

What a great project and name for the knife. Loved the videos congratulations to those fortunate enough to get in on the special run.

Thanks for sharing.

Chris

Thoroughly enjoyed meeting Sam at Blade. I'm sure if there wasnt the language barrier we would have talked for hours. All his knives were beautifully done and had an aggressive tone that was unmistakably his own. Great job on the videos Joe:thumbup:

Great and interesting video Joe. Thank you. I believe I saw the movie you mentioned. The Tsavo build is coming along nicely. Mike

Thanks for Sam's Tsavo pics and the video, Joe. Glad to see Sam has hopped right back into the fire.

Great maker, great knife, great project put together by Joe. This one should do well at Best Bowie. A devastating contemporary interpretation of that genre.

Thank you

I missed you at Blade

You were supposed to be buying drinks :)

This is a great piece and the small differences with the half guard really sets it apart from the other Tsavos I have seen

Sam really has stepped into the light

The going full time is awesome

IMHO he is putting out some incredible pieces right now

Like my Killer Instinct piece that is a scaled down Tsavo with a carry handle

Just incredible searing visceral lines

Fantastic piece Joe. Dramatic, compelling lines have been a Lurquin signature since day one - and he is continuing to refine his styles and delight his growing number of fans.

I'll have to get you those drinks next time around.

Okay guys Sam is really flying :)

For those that were worried about getting one with a Hamon as good as mine

Do t worry :)

Here is a better prospective

I do not think Sam is going to have any problems getting killer Temper Lines on these pieces
