Do you carry the same knife for a while, or do you rotate on a daily basis?

I've been carrying the same knife for 3 weeks. It has allowed me to know the knife well, but I think I like it better when I can carry whatever suits my mood.

If you carry the same knife, is it because you've found the knife (or the knife for now)?

I carry a different knife almost every day. I have about 15 that are suited for work carry, and then another 10 or so that are rotated on the weekend. My wife makes fun of me because I usually take longer to pick my knife out than my cloths for the day!

I'll carry a work knife (this case a gayle bradley) for a month or so and switch it out. Then I carry the after work knife (pm2) for the same time. When I switch one, the other gets switched as well. So basically, I carry 2 knives for a month or two then rotate.

I like to rotate my knives when they start getting dull then once a few of them are dull I sit down on a weekend and resharpen or touch them a up :) they all get a little lovin

I rotate depending on my mood, what I am doing and where I am going. The exception is when I get a new knife. I typically carry the new blade for a couple weeks to try it out before adding to the rotation. My latest purchase was a Large Sebenza Insingo and that has been all I have carried since it arrived. Soon it will join the rotation but wil be carried more than some of the others.

Rotate based on what I want for the day based on how much I want to conceal it (disappear completely, see clip, see clip and 1/2in of handle, belt sheath), cutting needs, and local laws for areas I visit that day. Though lately I've been carrying a ka-bar dozier, I typically try to keep my knives under 3in so I don't have to deal with many laws if I enter one of the nearby cities that day that have a 3in blade limit. Though my usual rotation is ka-bar dozier, gerber evo jr, and some other ka-bar with 2.5in semi serrated blade.

I like to carry a knife for a week or so, and then switch up to another knife. As long as you have enough knives to space out a month between carrying the same knife, then it keeps up the feeling of having a new knife, as you "re-discover" your knives once a month.

While I do typically carry either a Caly 3 or a Chambriard Le Thier Compact in the office during the week, I switch up between a Sebenza/Umnumzaan/Para 2/Military when I'm not in the office.

Right now I rotate weekly.

I should probably change this because I have 10 in my EDC rotation right now, plus 3 or 4 others that could be in it, and I will probably buy 2 or 3 more by the end of this year. I'm thinking about changing so that I carry a knife 2 or 3 days then switch. I probably should sell a few and stop buying new ones, but I can't bear to think about that.

I always carry the most recent favorite. In the past, that has usually meant a large Sebbie, although I've been hanging out with a Grayman Dua for a while, and now my special is a Three Sisters Forge Beast with M390 blade-steel. Now, THAT is a knife. The blade (tip to handle) is a few thousands less than 3" which means I can carry it legally anywhere where Obama isn't. And not in Chicago. Oh yeah, not in NYC. Of course, you can't even carry a Big Gulp in NYC...

I carry my current favorite (SnG). It's easy to choose a favorite when your collection is lean. I think I have 4 folders.
I tend to carry the same knife for many years. I carried my Schrade CH7 for over 15 years until a drunken rage snapped the blade. :thumbdn:

If I had awesome collections like some of you, I have absolutely no idea how I could pick a favorite. I'd probably rotate too. :)

I rotate based on what my planned/expected activities are for that day. Always at least 1 fixed and 1 folder, sometimes 2 of each.

Same knife every day. I LOVE seeing useage-scratches, especially ones that I put there.
There's just something beautiful about a well-loved knives..
I've been carrying my Native 5 every day since I got it on April, 17.
I hope to make it at least a year with the same knife. It's my goal.

I rotate regularly, usually a knife will live in my pocket for a few weeks/months until I decide to switch it up. Also depends on what kind of work I know I'll need to be doing, what sort of pants I'm wearing, so on and so forth.

I used to switch daily because there was always something I didn't like about the particular blade I had. But since I got my ontario rat2 it is all I have carried. This is likely the longest I have went with the same knife.

I will carry the same main blade for a long time and not rotate it.
I normally carry two and rotate the secondary blade every few days or maybe every week.

Been carrying the same two knives together for over a year--Mini Grip and Delica. I'll add one or another of the others based on mood, but the main ones--especially the Mini Grip--stay put.

I rotate like crazy, almost to much. I need to carry one knife longer so I can get a good feel for it.
