Same knife, or rotate?

I 'm rotation free, that is my decision on which knife/knives I carry each day is dependent on what I anticipate my needs will be. If the day is leisurely then I revert to whimsy.
 
I have a habit of picking a group of knives to carry as a system, small two blade Jack, larger single blade modern locker out the other way around, I also carry a dedicated SD knife, a knife on my keys thicker fb in my bag.

And I do rotate the groups.
 
I carry my small Sebenza to work ALWAYS since the day I got it. Before that it was a Spyderco Sage 1 for work. The weekends get a rotation depending on what i am doing, usually between a Delica, a Mini-Ritter Grip, or the Sebenza. Also have a Spyderco Dragonfly and a Boker Nano that make a different pocket from time to time. And an Esee Izula if there is definately going to be some outdoorsy stuff going on.

But I do have an Mcusta Yoroi on the way that will compete with the Sebenza for some work pocket time. Although it doesnt have a pocket clip, so it may make its way to work in my bag and be a desk knife.
 
I have carried the same knife for over 2 years and the same multi tool with it for a year. Sometimes I will throw another knife in my pocket or use the fixed blade paring knives scattered around my boat but for 99% of my cutting work is done with my Byrd Rescue. It is probably due to be replaced, the serrations are worn down pretty badly and the lock is starting to get some play but this knife meets my cutting needs better than any other and there aren't too many 4 inch serrated sheepsfoot folders out there.
 
I have a Boker KeyCom that I always carry. That one gets used fairly often. I also always carry a Leatherman Squirt, which has a small blade that I keep sharpened but I almost never use it. These two tools are truly my every day carry.

Then I usually carry a medium-sized Case slipjoint of some sort. I have a handful of about 8 of these that get carried as the mood or daily needs dictate. I'll tend to carry one for a week or so and then change up, though I don't really have a formal rotation per se.

The Case knife is my "for enjoyment" carry, though I do use them as well.
 
I'm another one with a work and after work rotation.
I carry a mix of fixed and folders. It all depends on my mood and the days planned activity.
I've never had a problem with muscle memory or forgetting which knife I have at any given time.
From the moment I feel a knife my hand knows how to draw and or open it.
I believe this comes from my night stand orientation when I handle/fondle new knives until I am comfortable with their feel and function.
 
I tend to find a knife a like and carry it for extended periods of time, from months to years. I will purchase knives from time to time to see if I'd rather carry something new or different, but if it doesn't do it for me, off it goes. Likewise, if I find something new that I like more, the older knife usually goes up for sale. I don't generally keep a collection of any more than two users at any one time.
 
used to rotate a work knife about every week or two between 3 or so folders. One would be my work knife, and one would be everything else, but those would stay the same for a couple weeks, then I'd get the urge to change them up. Then i found my perfect knife and I have taken it just about everywhere for the last 2 years, I throw something else in my pocket from time to time, but I keep coming back to this one.
 
I've gotten to the point where I carry a Delica 4 FFG almost 100% of the time. Best combo for ergos, blade steel, cost, etc for....me. I will rotate the color thou. I own a black, green, blue, grey and purple.
 
I have EDC'd a large Rittergrip for work for the last 7 years. On the weekends, I rotate between an AFCK, CQC7B, Small Sebbie,
David Boye dendritic cobalt and a Microtech CMTX5.
 
I'm alwasys trying to find THE perfect combination, wich of course is impossible, so I'm always dissatified.
I carry a dedicated sd like a tdi, a multitool like a leathermansomething, it varies, and an utilitarian like a manix 2xl with tactical capabiltities.
Previous combination example: a folding kbit, a sak, a yojimbo 2.
 
I rotate and carry depending on my mood for the day.

I have a pretty large collection and carry all of my knives.

There are some days I may carry the same knife for a few days straight, but since I almost always carry a Primary and Secondary, one of them always changes day to day.

I love switching it up and having such a diversified collection of knives.
 
Part of me wants to rotate, give all my favorites some play time.

The other part just wants to EDC the Stretch in ZDP exclusively.

Both parts win out about half the time :p
 
Rotate, constantly. I've only been up and around for a few hours and I'm already switched out a small fixed blade to a small folder. If I'm going out later, I will probably grab something a little bigger.
 
I almost always have a vic compact or a +b yeoman riding in my watch pocket for light work... As for my larger EDC, my rotation usually remains the same for Monday through Friday and then something different for the weekend based on mood, dress, or activities. I must say that I have been staying partial to my DLC combo edge Manix 2 paired with a pancake sheath form Wicek Leather. This has been a great combo thus far...
