SanRenMu is getting original (kinda) and fancy (kinda) (picture heavy [kinda])

ZT copied me! :D The point I am trying to make is .in the knife industry 99.9% of the time no matter what you do someone has most likely done it before. I'm not saying Sanrenmu does not copy designs I just think after the reputation they have no matter what they do someone will point the finger of plagiarism.

I did this as an experiment some time last year and did not like it so I tried something else.
EDIT: Reference Scurvy's posts 25 & 31 if you are wondering just what the heck it is that I am talking about.

I love when big tough knifenuts get their feelings hurt by knives that have the gall to... come in the same color as another knife.

I love when people are literally unable to tell quality differences between a $6 junk knife, and knives made from reputable companies.

Dont like it? Dont buy it.

these look like great gifts for people who arent that into knives, but might actually make them ponder higher quality knives later on.

Wow if the whining doesn't stop, this thread might wind up in W&C. There I could voice my full opinion.

Back to the topic. If you hate Chinese knives because you are ignorant, then just say that. Don't say they are all cheap crap because they are not. Most of them are actually shockingly well made if you stick with the better manufacturers (like SRM). Don't make up stupid excuses like they rip off everything. Of course if you look hard enough every knife that wasn't 150% original ripped off some design characteristic. The Corvette looks a lot like a Ferrari, but do people call it a knockoff? No.

I am getting really fed up with the nigh bigotry when it comes to Chinese made knives here. There is a difference between disliking design choices and hating a perfectly good knife for little to no reason. The SRM 710 IS NOT a Sebenza ripoff. Does it share some design characteristics? Of course, but so does nearly every other no-frills framelock out there, and almost none of those are called knockoffs.

If you don't like the knife and won't try it out, then stay away from it. Quit spewing constant insults and going out of your way to impart you uninformed opinion. If you won't handle the knife, the most you are allowed to say is that it looks bad or uncomfortable (or that for the price it doesn't seem to be "there"). Don't call a knife, or anything, crap when you haven't and never will handle it out of prejudice.

Second post before the lock/move!

No joke. I'm just gonna shut this thread down. I was hoping for discussion and discoveries and experiences with the newer models, but, as is seemingly unavoidable when SRM is the subject, an extremely pointless argument took over wherein nobody succeeded in convincing anyone else and ad hominem and opinions pretending to be facts reigned supreme.

This is why we can't have nice things.
