"Santoku Hunter" in 1084 and Dyed/Stabilized Buckeye Burl

sweet! a camptoku :D If these had micarta scales and kydex sheaths, I'd snatch one up :)

I'll certainly consider it. I've had very good response from several forum members, some wanting stainless, some carbon like this one.

I took some daylight shots of this, before it goes to the buyer:

Had to add my 2 cents. I LOVE that knife. Perfect looking package. I am gonna be watching you vintagefan. I can't wait to see more. BRAVO.

Well, what more can a guy say that hasnt been said already?!?!

REALLY REALLY great job!!! All the way around a wonderful knife. I too would suggest offering up some form of sheath specific to the knife as your skill set evolves to make it a perfect package.

Still cant take away the beautiful job you did on every aspect of that knife!

Great knife Ian. I'd love to see you make a kitchen santoku. Good to see new makers in So Ca. 'Can't wait to see the next one.

Excellent! Those of us who already own a pry bar, sledgehammer and axe really appreciate seeing a good slicer. Looking forward to seeing more.

Thanks again folks. Your kind comments were motivation enough to get me past my weekend knifemaker's block, and into the shop today. I am starting on a really nice full hollow ground S35VN Hunter out of .152" stock. I think that another one of these might be in the works as well. I'm going out of town for 5 days on Thursday for a job (darn real life), so I really hope I can get a couple knives at HT before I leave, so I have something to work on next week when I get back.

I'm going to be getting an email list and website sorted in the next couple weeks. If anyone is interested in being added, please PM me, even if just for some pictures to look at once in a while. I won't spam you, only completed knives ready for sale, and major announcements.

how much was this blade and how wide/tall is the blade? nice work.

It sold for $160 shipped in USA 48. The blade is 4.875" long from the guard, with a 4.5" cutting edge. The height is 1.5" at the widest, and .85" at the narrowest (the point where the secondary slope starts for the tip).

Thanks!

Just picked the Santoku Hunter up from the PO and I am thrilled.
Great job Ian! :)

The handle shape fits me well and the design is perfect for my purposes.
Beautiful wood work and grind, can't wait to put it to its intended use.

I snapped one photo after unpacking, I'll get some more up after I get some user shots and a sheath put together.
