Bro I think I surprised Terry just a bit. It had been about 4-5 years since I had done any shooting at all and that was just for a short time at pistol ranges. And I taught Barb how to shoot the Mossberg 12 John Wayne style from the hip. You dayum sure don't want her shooting at you cause you are gonna lose something no matter what she's
using....
The Egyptian made AK is really nice but I waited on firing it until we got my new Ruger 10-.22 sighted in with its 3x9 power with 42 mm reticules Simmons Scope.
We sighted it in at about 50 yards and could walk a pop can with it when we were done. It's now close enough for tree and hopping
rats.
I knew if we started off with the AK I would probably start flinching but by doing it the way we did neither of us had any trouble. I was actually surprised that I didn't have trouble with flinching because it had been so long and perhaps the ear plugs Terry insisted that I bring along, but he forgot, helped a bunch.
(I brought along extra so Terry didn't have to be without.)
Now to just get a couple of 50 round magazines for the Ruger and then it will be like the AK, load it on Sunday and shoot it all week, just like the old Union soldiers said about the lever actions way back when.
It's a lot of fun to shoot something that doesn't need to be loaded until 30-40 rounds have been expended and now I'm wondering about a drum magazine and if I could lift it fully loaded.
I am now officially ready for next deer season!!!!
Oh!!!...and I have a 5 round mag for that. I don't need to assault a deer.
