Satin Ratmandu - Satin Swamp Warden - Convex Edge Waki

Satin is SICK!!!! I'm loving those pictures of the RMD. Once I wear away some more of my finish I might have to send it out for treatment.
 
I am finally pulling the trigger on an RMD and swamp warden and am itching to get them both satinized. Now that there have been a bunch of satin finish sr101 knives out in the field for a while, how is the rust/corrosion issue going? If these will be put to hard use on long camping trips am I asking for trouble going with satin for both?

Its just too beautiful to resist!

Edge pro will give you a v edge unless you modify one of the stones.

I have heard you can glue leather on one to do convex edges.


For convex, you can do it by hand with sandpaper on a soft backing then strop, or you can do it with a belt sander.

Slack belt sander will be so much faster. But I have done 5 convex edges by hand the hard long way. I have only used the belt sander on two pieces of Infi, because I just got tired with the KZII. Just too much shoulder to remove.
 
+1 on wondering about corrosion. Do you remove the scales? If not, how do you get it so clean around them?
