Satisfying Thwack

ZT 0452CF for me. The detent on mine is perfect and that long blade deploys with a nice thwack. After that, it's my Spyderco Manix 2. I think some of the sound is from the ball bearing locking up, but it sounds great.

Spyderco paramilitary 2 in s35vn, has a great “ting” to it when it opens, more so than my s30v variants.

This thread made go through my folders to hear for certain. After the launch 8, my Kizer Ki423. Heaviest blade, ceramic bearings, sounds like I'm whipping someone. Not that I have experience with that...;)

For me, it's between a Graham Custom GL or a Chris Goodwyn Ferronaut. The Graham has the best double-click action I've found and Goodwyn feels like an overbuilt Thorburn.

The Medford Praetorian Genesis T is what I own that can turn heads when opened. The small Sebenza 21 has the more satisfying lock up, it just doesn't make as much sound.

I have to add my BM Rukus2 automatic to the list. That thing fires open lightning fast with an imposing "snap". It's like igniting a lightsaber.

For me its the "klachick" of an axis lockwhen you flick it out by holding the lock, but let the lock go before it is fully open. You can feel the slight resistance and hear a pre sound "kla" before the "chick" of it locking open. So satisfying.

 Cold Steel with Tri-ad lock , especially the XL sizes when wave opened hard ="ka-Thunk" !:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Agreed. My cold steel espada large has the most satisfying thwack. Sadly I sold it. That knife is too big and scary:D

Yep, my Voyager XL has a sound like no other I own! When that big chunk of steel slams open and that tri-ad lock engages people take notice. It's like touching off a .44 mag at an indoor range!
