What sauces do you guys like to use on whatever you be cookin?

Have anything that just needs to come with you?

Guzzle A-1 just because its there?

Park your carcass and tell us about it!

I usually bring spices as opposed to sauces, at least on hikes (lighter). Otherwise, I cannot go without good ol' Tobasco or Louisianna Hot Sauce! Oh man, in soups and stews, mmmmmm! (Cripes, now I am hungry AGAIN! The dog food sandwich with a soy sauce chaser thread cured that... I just had to read another food thread, sheesh).

my own Nuclear HellStorm sauce:

- 2 cups habenaros
- 2 cups jalepenos
- 2 cups cayanne pepper
- 2 cups paprika
- 2 cups shredded raw garlic
- 1/2 cup sea salt
- 1/2 cup shredded onion
- 1 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 2 liters Wild Turkey Bourbon

all dry/raw/fresh ingredients plus oil into a blender. Frappefy, liquify at high speed. Mix with the booze. The liqour draws out the hot oils and adds bite. Cant into mason jars and cap. let it age in fridge or celler. Pour into bottle for hiking/camping use.

oooh add some super smoky burnt chipotles too for a nice smoky taste.

Heinz 57.

During the summer, I got sent to Montana to install a kitchen and found a good burger joint. The waitress brought me some 57 sauce. It was like Disneyland in my mouth!!! Been throwing it on everything since.

I need to try this minus the cayenne and using Jack Daniels instead of the Wild Turkey. :D

For the woods I usually stick with Tabasco for convenience. At home? Srirachi Scause! Heinz 57, A1, are the usual suspects.

Sauces vary so much and are compromised to such an extent it would be difficult to make a decent list. Garlic salt is a good example – wouldn't touch it with a stick in normal life. Stock cubes, various herbs, paprika and other bits are usually found in my gear along with cornflour. Of the wet ingredients my luxury must have sauce base is a tube of tomato purée.

I'm a fan of Sweet Baby Ray's, but this just sounds like fun!

I make tomato sauce and pack it into Ziplock to carry in the field...

yes, sometimes it leaks :D

It's good for both pasta and rice.

1. tobasco, I'm never without it

2. Red Rooster

3. Korean bean paste, HOT!!!!

4. John boy and Billy's hot and spicy grillin sauce, I think I could eat a cat turd if you fried it and put enough JB & B on it. :D Chris
