Wonder why he put those two in if he was not going to send them all? Glad at least two of them made it home!
One of two that I can think of (1) claims other one was in there but lost in transitor (2) hope that some will keep the wolves at bay...sorry but the answer is neither. Good bye
Probably sold the third one to some unsuspecting sap.

That wouldn't be relevant to the question its not like that unsuspecting sap is getting that knife either.

Not entirely true, I had a punk from Cali send me a pic of a torn open shipping box with note saying that I shipped him an empty box and that he wanted all the money back or he was going to get the police involved. after a couple of heated exchanges he then demanded half the money back
! I knew it was a scam because he bought a paintball gun from me in Mass and he lived in southern Cal, which has more paintball guns and playing fields than any other state so I contacted the post office that I shipped it from and gave them the pic of a torn open box that he sent me so they looked it up in their shipping records and it showed that the box weighed 2 pounds when shipped and sent me the documentation proving it. They also gave me the green light to tell him to pound sand and said that they will be contacting him for an investigation. At one point my wife was trying to convince me to send him back half the money to end it and she is a very smart woman! I wonder how many times this scam has worked on others. The system does work out for the good guys thanks to postal scales

is a postal employee so knows a lot of in and outs of the system, so I believe if that is the route he choices I believe he will have an inside track on justice.

Okay, when he posts of his successful resolution of this issue through the assistance of the USPS PI, I'll cheerfully eat my words.

I imagine from a postal inspectors view many of these cases are he said, she said and not much they can do., nor large enough to warrant a lot of man hours. By filing at least you are on the record and if a pattern of behavior can be seen (by others filing also) maybe they will do something. Same seems to be true with local law enforcement. If nobody files we know for sure nothing will happen.

And, I hate to see someone, that cares about the community, and readily helps the community, get screwed. Maybe it shouldn't, but, it bugs me, just that much more, when I see a good guy get dealt a
hand. I know I haven't had any one-on-one interactions, with you, but, I read your posts, and you've always impressed me as patient feller, willing to lend a hand, to those that need a hand, and those that are hostile, to USPS, as well. 
Well, that's how I remember your posts, lol. Now, going forward, no more trades!

That is my experience too. The Post Master was more concerned that the people who tried to scam me out of $700 in knives were going to get the $50 of included insurance than she was of my package. I then got all the shipping details which showed they sent me an empty box initially and I also got the info for the 3 other people these two had (tried to) scam. Postal Inspector didn't do anything.. Not one thing.. And I did all his work..

If they get inundated with enough filed against a single person it is possible something will happen so I encourage people to continue to report after all even if their concern is them claiming that $50 if this person has 50 false claims for $50 insurance that might make them care enough to do something. Nothing will happen if nothing is reported but something might happen when something is reported so report what you can where you can and however you can.
