Look I learned a good lesson here and there is no such thing but GS anymore or releasing without seeing but I’m able to take risks because when push comes to shove if im wronged, much like you, I’ll deal with. If I have to fly to Georgia and walk into the Blue Ridge Police Department I will. I have all this guys info, his ex wife, his current fiancé and all their family trees up and down. Part of this I did prior to purchase, like I found out Jimmy Lovejoy is a surveyor so I asked all types of specific questions about CAD, property surveys etc in conversation. I was able to confirm that the person I was communicating with was Jimmy using that and other information I could confirm publicy like knowing he grew up in Tampa and asking him questions, again in conversation, that there’s no way he could have a quick casual conversation about.

Agreed and that’s the relevant point, all he had to do was tell me upfront and come to agreement on how shipping would play out instead of saying nothing, he could be communicative and say, I didn’t get tracking, i didn’t ship it at the speed I promised,
I didn’t ship it because I wanted to make sure you release the hold after you get the first 2 knives, he’s had an eternity of time to say Danny it’s all good, you’re not going to like it but here’s what I did. He getting my texts and emails, and I have had others who knew him before I did reach out. Once asked about this…radio silence.
 
I would still file a claim with PP. They can do anything they choose to do and at almost any time. You didn't get the goods as promised, and that seems a legit claim no matter if a package arrived or not.. If by any chance you used a credit card there is another claim area you can use.
We would like to help make you whole if possible, but appreciate the warning in any case. Normally I would say you should have waited a bit longer, but the lack of response to getting a tracking # and now silence is a very bad sign + he has not responded here. If he has nothing to hide, he can join in the conversation and clear this up very quickly.

No harm in giving it a shot. I do think I did part on credit. I really appreciate that you all responded and engaged the way you did. I am happy to answer any other questions you have or any other suggestions. If there is a way to communicate with him as admins to just inquire about this claim and see his side, maybe he’ll respond to you. I would be very happy to have read this all wrong but there’s really no excuse for him being deceitful with shipping and non communicative when especially when things seem wrong. As they say if it looks like a duck and quacks like one you’re dealing with a scumbag.

On a side note this forum and the folks I’ve met so far are good people, this is a very welcomed new interest and hobby for me.

You learned a costly lesson the hard way and I appreciate you telling us about him and outing him.

Let me just say that insofar as BF is concerned if you deal with established, subscribed members with 20 or more positive feedbacks you have almost zero chance of having a problem. I have done hundreds of transactions over a 15 year period and I have never had a single problem. But I am still very fussy who I deal with.

For me a big tell is where members post on the forum. I try and avoid buying from anyone who is only here to trade. I want to deal with members who are invested in the forum and the hobby.

Thanks again for giving us the heads up on this and I hope you are made whole, and refunded what is owed to you.:thumbsup::)

Not defending anyone, but I do think it's a little early to file a thread like this. We are just talking a single day where he didn't respond to your messages/emails. Something could have happened.

Just saying.
 
You have to control your money, especially when dealing with strangers that have a very weak forum history. Just forget about Venmo, and any other payment service that cannot guarantee your transaction. Just use PayPal G&S all the way. Never let sellers sway you with hard luck stories about needing the cash asap, as it usually indicates trouble.

I kept the drama out of the story but he ended by taunting me last night. If I got the knives this moment nothing will change his discourse, the fact he failed to mention anything and his action especially when things seem to be off. He brought this on himself period. When I sell I basically photo blog myself till I hand the package to the post office out of respect to the buyer. See communication below and then tell me what you think. I wrote consistently the entire day including when he went radio silent.

I wrote this the morning of at the time I was releasing the hold:

Danny - “If I open the package and there are only 5 bananas in there I'm hiring every surveyor firm in Georgia till I find you.”
- this probably would have been a good opportunity to mention that I only had tracking for 2 of 5 knives or that only 2 of 5 were coming.

This was his initial response when I contacted him RE 2 knives:
“My phone is fucking up sorry network is down”
- first this isnt 1996, 2nd the network was down exactly when I discovered 2 not 5 knives

“They're in 2 boxes both shod have been delivered together though”
- first mention at all

Said he was going home to get receipt with tracking:
“Give me an hour to get home and ill tell you where they're at” 12:35pm

DANNY - “Any reason you didnt tell me it was 2 packages?” 12:41pm

JIMMY - “The hold. They should have been delivered regardless though. Together”

“Maybe 45 min if that” (1:00pm)

“I will get you the number as soon as I get home which won't be long..” (yesterday 1:53pm)

I asked him why:
“I thought incase the hold wasn't lifted or there was some bs with getting it I'd have something to fall back on..” 1:58 pm
- …I lied to you because…

“I told you just as soon as I get home you will have tracking first thing” 2:25pm

“I kniw exactly where the receipt is” 3:26pm

Radio Silence, I was trying him

“I'm home now..” 7:24pm - No further communication. No tracking number.

Not sure if you’re addressing me or someone else but I have no response to my PM even though he read it.
 
If you paid using PP goods and did not receive ALL of the goods, you should receive your money back. It is a fraudulent transaction. Document it with all the information you have. I would file a claim at once.
I see no reason that anyone would send two packages instead of one..... that is quite a stretch. Double the cost for what purpose?

I’m doing that now, thanks. No part of his story makes sense and all things aside if he was legit all he has to do is provide the tracking number.
