Want To Trade - Knives and Tools

Justin Brown started the above trade thread seeking to trade a Charlie Campagna 15 TC Barlow - Ancient scratted parchment bone. I messaged him expressing interest and he responded. The conversation was taken to our email addresses where we exchanged numerous communications until a deal was agreed upon. I have all of these emails available and will post them if it becomes necessary.

The agreed upon trade was as follows.

Justin Brown trades (mails to me) the mentioned 15 TC scratted parchment bone ancient barlow

I Dwight Mitchell trade (mails to him) A NIT Charlie Campagna lambsfoot in dark chestnut bone. Also in addition to that I send him a A. Wright & Son lambsfoot rehafted by Glennbad.



The following morning (December 28) I mailed the knives to Brown and sent him tracking. He acknowledged the email with tracking late that afternoon stating he had the scratted barlow packaged and he would try to mail it but was really busy at work. I responded to him that he could mail it when it was convenient for him. From this moment forward I received no further response form Brown.
Tracking (priority mail) showed and confirmed my package of knives was delivered to Brown's address.


An entire week followed with Brown ignoring emails and texts to his phone. Crickets for 7 days. On January 6, 2023 I receive two messages in conversation (blade forums) stating he has had the flu and been unable to respond but will give me tracking on Jan 9 (Monday).



I then contacted another forum member who I knew had expressed interest in the same knife Brown was trying to trade. He informed me that Brown had made the same deal with him for yet another C.C. lambsfoot which he also had already mailed to Brown and had heard nothing until the same message was sent to him about having the flu and offering apologies for no contact.

Brown was notified by me that this action would be taken. No response from Brown.



I can provide all emails, phone texts and private messages that pertain to this scam.
 
Keep us apprised of all developments. Unfortunately, going forward, there is little recourse that we, the mods, can offer beyond banning the offending party if he does not hold up his end of the trade.

Anything further would have to be taken up with relevant authorities.
 
Wow, Dwight, this is worse than I could have imagined. Overall, I’d say this is pretty damning - hopefully the other member (victim) will chime in as well.

Your Glennbad modded knives are pretty special - in addition to the Charlie Lamb. I hope that some recourse is made available to you - and soon.
 
He didn’t have trouble responding when he bought that stag GEC last Monday here on the forum. Sounds like he wanted to check both Lambsfoots (lambsfeet?) out before he decided which to send his knife to. Should have been shown the door already.
