Scandi grind folders

^^ So would I HFinn. They seem to be like unicorn poo though. I've been looking for one for months and months and months.....

Maybe we should e-mail Brisa and ask if they could make some? Wonder what the pice would be?

Those Enzo folders are nice-looking knives, but in view of the fact (if I'm not mistaken) the Birk 75 has carbon fibre scales and a pocket-clip, no way is it a traditional knife.

And a "Scandi grind" folder is "traditional" in what way? :)

Fair point. I'm not sure how far back Scandanavian folders go, but be interested to hear. EKA knives go back to 1882, but I don't know how long they've been producing folders. They were already pretty common by the early 1970's though.

Edit - Well apparently, Scandanavian knives go back to Viking times, but what the grind on them was like I don't know.

Well, at least 1874.....

....this is the date shown on my barrel knife anyway (Johan Engstrom producing hsi version in Eskilstuna between 1874 & 1916 iirc).

EDIT: Correction....up unitl 1918.

Thank's, lets keep this traditional, allthough PK 70 with the screws is a bit modern also. I can send Brisa an e-mail.

And they answered. No go, sold out and can not make individual pieces or small quantities. What a shame.

All that remains is the possibility of making one yourself, they do sell everything you need.

In my opinion EKA Swede 8 locking blade folder is very good choice. I have had one about year and its good knife. Holds edge very well and it is easy to sharpen. Very durable folder! And it isn`t very expensive also.

I have 2 Enzo Birk 75's and I can't say enough good things about them. The ones I have are D2, easy to sharpen. The size and thumb stud make them open faster than many autos I own. They hold their edge very well. Cut great. Love them.

I went out and bought a similar size knife, Benchmade Mini Griptilian. It is not scandi and not D2. Not fast to open like the Enzo. It is very hard to sharpen and dulls easily compared to the Birk. No comparison.

Love my Brisa/Enzo Birk 75. Also have the dc-ed Enzo PK70. Both top notch knives.

Photos not to scale. Both Scandi grind in D2.
