Scenario: All over by dawn.

Stabman, With all do respect I didn't even think of being a hero. I meant that I would do ANYTHING to survive. Even if that would put me in the not so good group. That would start with running out of the blast radius. If I can get away 5 miles my chance to live goes up many times over. Mountains would shield me from direct blast. After that do what ever is needed to get food and supplies.

But due to the added bombs and the carpeted bombing, That were added in the following post. If I know for a fact thats it I'm a dead man. I would climb to the top of the mountains and enjoy the fire works. What ever anyone would say, It sure would be a sight to see with bombs that big going up. I would guess I got about 30 sec to enjoy the show before the blast would reach me. I guess the few moments before the blast would reach me. When you know you are dead. Those would be the moments I would feel most alive most aware of whats around me. Then poof no more......

Works for me. :)

Also a great time to sample all those toxic berries and mushrooms that look so delicious! Make a bed of P-Ivy leaves and roll around it some poison oak. Poison hemlock tea and attack the nearest bear or cougar...just for kicks.

since i'm not guaranteed a swift, painless death, i'll press my luck. i'll dig a foxhole with enough food, water, and (whatever) precautions i take against radiation fallout and hunker down. it's a once-in-a-lifetime chance; going through a nuke strike.

I'd probably try to call my GF and say goodbye. After that... Since the whole area is about to be obliterated, I'd go contrary to the normal camper and see how much of a mess I could make. Forest fires aren't much of a concern when a nuke is about to put them out, right?

Not quite... There was a guy who survived both nukes in Japan during WWII.

Worst business trip ever, followed by the worst welcome home ever. :p
