Schrade Extreme Survival issues

There's no reason why shipping to BC from the States should cost that much. I sent a machete to Australia for about $12 less.

Tell me about it. I've ordered items from ebay and was charged $15+ for it, only to have the shipping sticker say $2.50:jerkit:.

Courier charges are ridiculous also. I had an order arrive via Fedex, value of about $150USD, and there were an additional $55 in charges upon delivery, this on top of paying shipping fees on ordering! Hence why I refuse to deal with anything other than USPS cross-border, at least there's no hidden fees with them. $36 is still waayy too much to pay for a knife selling for $37. I paid $40 shipping for a $40 knife before, but it was coming from Nepal:rolleyes:.

If the knife were 10 inches instead of 6, I think the recurve would have made a huge difference and it would be an almost perfect blade. However survival knives that size, in my opinion, play their biggest role in battoning etc, in which case a plain straight edge is going to be most efficient. Chopping with a 6 inch blade is a bit rough.

we ship stuff that size, like the Fast Axe 2 and ECO Hawks to Canada all the time - it shouldn't cost that much at all Priority Mail USPS.

i'll re-check, but that doesn't seem to wash.

No need to re-check, it's just the minimum shipping fees Knifecenter charges. Ridiculous IMO, but whatever.

I'm still searching for a source for these that'll ship to Canada:o

I'd just like to say, I found this knife available at JTVKnives. I calculated it using the shopping cart, and shipping costs came to about $12. Knifecenter and SMKW were both about $35 flat rate, thats THREE times the cost! :barf:

I emailed them to check if it's in stock before I order it, and I'll be placing my order when I get the reply assuming it is.

Anyways, I hope this isn't some form of deal spotting, if so I'll remove it, but I thought it worth posting.
