I've been meaning to have another giveaway for a while and now seems like a good time. Activity here has fallen off since mykelm's epic giveaway and RGrizzleLeather's giveaway. This prize isn't quite as nice but it's something for free, so how can you complain!

The prizes- a USA made Old Timer 33OT Middleman Jack and a JK tin knife - both handled but unused

Here is how this will work-
You can post once a day in this thread till Sept 21st. but be sure to post everyday to increase your chances. The evening of the 21st I will pick a winner by a random number generator using the number of posts here.

What to post:

EDIT: In order to get more participation lets turn this into a photo thread. Post up any kind of knife, outdoor, family, good times photo you'd like. One post a day, everyday till the 21st.

I'd like to get some ideas for my 10yr wedding anniversary coming up in Oct. So post some ideas, or stories of what you've done for past anniversaries. Other than that post pics, tell a story, tell a joke, share recipes, etc, just be sure to post once a day in this thread!

(Borrowed from mykelm- I thought these were good to include)
Remember some kids do visit John's forum here,so lets keep it clean please.
I am going to limit this to those with 50 posts or more on BF.
I also reserve the right to disqualify anyone for any reason as I see fit.
You must be legally able to own a knife to be eligible & it is your responsibility to be in compliance with the laws where you live.

US addresses only, as I've never shipped international and have no idea how to.

Reminder of what the prize is:

Thanks for participating, and let the posting begin!

What a good give-away. You're a real gentleman. Not an entry as I'm in Canada, but good luck to everyone!

Good deal Derek -

Jk people are the best.

10 year anniversary eh? Tin and aluminum.

One thing that I do is every month, once a month, is I give Maggie a gift.

It might be her favorite candy. I might take her out to dinner as a surprise. I might get her flowers. This month she received a JK / KYenglish Pocket King!

You don't have to spend a lot. Your lady will like a special card for no reason placed on the sink more than a $100 bill.

Take her out to dinner - a date night, without the children. Then, the next day, make her a breakfast with the children. Total family immersion, with a sprinkle of date night to take her back to the days when you were dating.

That is just some of my thoughts -

best

I'm in! What do you and your wife like to do? What is a typical vacation for you guys? What have you done for past bdays and anniversaries that's always a good start for folks to think up ideas...!

On our 10th anniversary, my wife and I went back to Jamaica (we were married in Jamaica) and stayed at Couples resort. Among our fondest memories was the smooth sounds of a saxophone being softly played each night as the sun was setting. The music just sort of drifted with the sound of the waves and helped create an atmosphere that was heavenly. I suppose it didn't hurt that we had been drinking rum all day.

A couple of years ago - long after our 10th had passed - I shot the following picture as a tribute to our 10th anniversary and our mutual fondness for the sweet sounds of a sax softly accompanying the last rays of sunshine. The picture was taken locally and is of my wife playing her saxophone.

Thank you for the opportunity to enter. Nevermind. I see I don't qualify because of my number of posts. Well, here's a picture of my dear departed Pinkie.

I don't have any good ideas for the anniversary yet, but I might think of something later on.
So here is a pic instead

Its my son
Thanks for the generous giveaway and congrats on the 10yr. mark.

Thanks for the opportunity to win.
How about writing her a poem? When my wife and I were first dating, I would write poetry for her. She loved it, and has kept the poems to this day (been married 18 years).
It's something straight from the heart, and she'll appreciate the thought and effort.

John

Pima Pants no worries you've been a member since 2000- guess you just don't have much to say

Taht's- great photo. My wife and I got married in the Smoky Mtns. in the National Park. We've only missed one year going back to the Smokies since we've been married.

mqqn- I try and do little things like that, not sure of the regularity though as I don't keep up with it. I know since she's gone back to teaching- I've surprised her with a bag of her favorite candy bars & brought home flowers, and cooked supper a few times. We eat out too much already. It gets to a point that nothing really sounds good. Your right about a card meaning more than $100

BJE- thanks

street soilder- I have actually been writing her poems with an alphabetical emphasize. It took her a few letters before she figured it out. I'm probably going to have a hard time with Q, X, and Z. Some are serious and some are funny with inside jokes.

I'm not entering, not because i don't want the prizes but because I think I've had enough and got enough on my plate right now :D

Looking forward to the wedding anniversary ideas though, always looking for more. i sent my wife on a treasure hunt for different thoughtful rather then expensive gifts once, kept it around the house and property so i could cook at home and we could spend a nice night alone together, it was our second year and we hadn't had many of those at the time with a baby in the house :)

Here is some advice I have for ya. Last year we had an 80's party to go to around the same time as our anniversery. So I planned ahead and let my hair grow for a few months, the night of our anniversary I had a friend cut my hair into a mullet and shaved my beard so only a sweet stache remained and took the creepiest pic I could imagine for her while holding my cat! Needless to say she laughed hard and refused to go out to dinner with me. But we had a blast at the party and I was runner up for best costume!

On second thought maybe dont take my advice as Im not always known to make the best decisions!

I'd say that since 10 is the first round number to reinact your first date.
Go to the places tbat you used to and relish the memories.

also, thanks for this sweet giveaway.

Make her a gift. Just taking the time to do that means a lot more than buying one.

5200 that was hilarious but I have a warped sense of humor. Knowing where you were married I would suggest a trip to moving mountain or Newport to see the old mansions or more exotic a trip to Puerto Rico to visit the yunque rainforest and their beaches. They have a bay where you can swim in and the microorganism are luminous so they glow during your night tour.

Not an entry, but congrats on making it to the first 10 years Derek. Here's hoping for many, many more.
I already have JK tin knife & a couple of 33OTs,so I couldn't enter in good conscience.

As far as ideas for the tenth anniversary go you're already ahead of curve by just remembering it  ;),but like others have said, something made by you sounds good,or something you know your wife would like to have, but would never buy for herself.
Like maybe a relaxing day at a spa?
Or a romantic dinner at an unexpected/unconventional location that has special meaning to you & her.

Good luck with the decision & congrats again.

You could get her a Swiss army knife.

Write her something, it doesn't have to be poetry or if it is, to be good. Something she can sock away that you created for her.

Where in Kentucky are you located? I work in northern Kentucky (Crescent Springs).

Not an entry, because I'm new here. Nice knives tho! However, my $0.02 would be to take on her role for the day (cleaning, cooking, ect.), and prepare her favoraite meal for her, explaining to her how much you appreciate the things she does for you on a daily basis, and how much she truley make your life easier! That would be a genuine gesture. Sorry, for the run on sentence. Congratulations on the 10th!

Not traditional, but my edc work horse!
