Schrade Salesmen

Yeh I guess, who knows maybe its a little rarer than i originally thought. I think Michael is right they normally put SS on the bolster but as this one had the sheild inlay as standard for the knife so I guess they just used that instead.
Anyway I put the picture to show the Salemans name on the box I already know the knife is rare.
Have a great day.

Regards Tim

And I for one thank you for showing us these pictures. Imagine the number of nice oddities that have gone into collections worldwide, never to be seen again, at least by my generation. While it is great and laudable to preserve the knives, and all the printed material, it is a darn shame to not share them with other collectors. A candle under a basket, so to speak.

Unless you've seen my first of the three pictures I just posted here, you likely have never seen this XT2B with the inverted handle. The seller had one more, and I've never seen another.

Ahhh.. but here is the difference. There were only a couple made like this that got out the door, but are they desirable? It is a gross defect that renders the knife pretty much worthless as a user. And as an example of the pattern for a collection as well. It's only value is as an oddity, a freak. I suppose there might be a collector or two who specialize in such things, but in the main, it is not desirable.

Your knife, on the other hand is a one of a kind, perhaps produced in a very short series as an in-house reward/commemorative for sales excellence. It actually stands for something and together with the etch, the shield, and the notation on the box, you have it's unique story!

1984 was a special year for Schrade. It was the first year that Imperial and Schrade were operated under combined management, marketing, and ownership. They had completed a major advertising drive, a sweepstakes for their dealers and jobbers with prizes like Dodge Old Timer Ramchargers, entertainment systems, etc., and posted record sales with a million dollar increase in profits. Braunstein was one of two sales coordinator for departmant stores that year.

Thanks, Im delighted with the info, I think I may have a rarer LB7 arriving in a few days I know I had to pay alot for it. Ill post a pick of it once it arrives.
