Schrade's carbon steel

I'd say the imperial steel and blade geometry are pretty close to Schrade for obvious reasons. imperial made a good cutting knife.
 
I wonder if perhaps we see more Schrades with broken blades, because that is what the workin guys used ?

My wife's grandfather used this 108OT in his regular farm duties and broke the sheepsfoot at some point. I hear he was a cautious man, but he probably asked too much of the little blade. Still, it marches on. I could probably carry none other than this and be well equipped for most of what I meet in my decidedly non-farming life. And, dang, does it take an edge... I mean, it has resisted my ham-fisted attempts at sharpening and still manages to cut like a little scalpel.

That's cool. That knife has enough life left in it, to be passed down to your kids, and last another generation
 
I hope you're right. It was in my pocket in the delivery room when my son was born. At this rate, he'll be able to do the same.
