Light Saber or Light Dagger.
Never needs sharpened and will even cut titanium based super alloys.

(also cauterizes wounds so it won't bleed and make a mess.)
 
Don't forget about the folding Katana Sulu had in the first Stat Trek reboot. Now that is a great pocket knife that turns into a big blade, maybe blade length adjustable.
