This is a chute- or aircrew- length version of the Scratchard combat knife. The name of the knife is a tribute to an author who helped out with some of my deployments, though he didn't know it at the time.
The chute length version is deisgned to be more compact, but retain the general usability of the design. lanyard holes in the guards and down the handle, double edged, with a meaty handle.
OAL 10.5
Blade 5.25
inside of guard handle length is 4 5/8 inches.
Steel is 5160, nominally .225 through the tang, with some taper on the double full convex zero grind. Full quench and temper process on this. Finish is baked on GunKote.
Scales are brown canvas micarta with brass tubing pins. Brass is used in this case because it can be blacked up easily.
Sheath is secure, with support for the guards to prevent ram throughs on impact, has more mounting options than I can think of, and is described with a follow along thread here:
