Screwed Up S30V Blade!

Here's a knife I paid about twice as much as your benchmade for.

Cuts great :D

Also, not asking this to sound rude, I'm just confused...but if all you use your knife for is cutting tape why didn't you buy a 10$ swiss army knife or 5$ box cutter? Also why did you want to reprofile the Benchmade? Cutting tape, the only thing that matters is edge sharpness, not geometry.

If you look at the blade as in percentages.... A few scratches means .001 % or less of the blade is damaged, the 99.999% is still very useable. That is how I look at a mistake, or a scratch in a blade. I collect and acquire knives, for use. As my collection grows, it becomes less possible to use all of them, but, use them I do or intend to. I am not interested in collecting show knives, I can look at those at knife shows and genuinely appreciate the skill that went into it. However, no interested in taking up space in my gun safe, that would not be worth it to me. Cz can do and should do whatever he wants with his knife, if new blade is his solution, then go git it..... I just hope he does not stop trying to sharpen, that is alot of fun, and a galant quest.

Cziv,

You could always put a mirror polish on your scratch up blade. Get some sand paper and sand out the scratches. Then mirror polish the blade. I think you will like the results.

God Bless

I did this to a brand new Ritter stonewashed blade on my DMT stone. Scratches do suck and I was pissed for a moment. I guess now you will get to really use it.
