SDFK is Glorious

I've had it as a project in the back of my head for a while to take some pictures and make a flowchart of the "field knife evolutionary lineage" - we have the common ancestor, the FK, which bifurcated into the HD family including the HDFK and SDFK and also into the non-HD family the BFK and FK2.

"Heh...he said bifurcated!"

Here’s a copper sheath experiment I did for the sdfk… most of my experiments don’t work, but this one was a winner. I highly recommend experimenting with this design. The biggest benefits are how precisely you can dial in the release tension by turning the screw… how easy it cleans out, and the cool sound it makes when drawing and clicking back in.

I just got an SDFK with buffed burlap scales and I haven't held a handle material I like more. How does the ECAM feel in comparison?

I'm really hoping to get an SSDFK this Friday. Maybe I can try the ECAM scales then!
I personally didn't like the buffed ecam on the bigger knives, it's slippery. Have you tried Terotuff? That stuff is great!

I’am waiting on some scale to replace those I’ve destroy out of stupidity and lots of beer 🍺. I was lucky enough to have an original one and even more lucky that a member lives 45 minutes from me AND had one for sale! So here’s un buffed and buffed green canvas next to each other. It’s by far my favorite handle material. Hope everybody have a great weekend cheer’s 🍻
