Sea World bans knives

Could someone please tell me what Busch beer did? I must have missed that one.

Oh, ok. Thanks. That seems odd since a large percentage of their customers are gun totin', knife lovin' hillbilly yokels. I'll be sure to tell everyone not to buy anymore Busch products.

Not only that... We are GOOD, HONEST, LAW-ABIDING yokels who LEGALLY carry firearms and pocketknives. Many of us are fairly educated as well. However, one of the smartest, self-driven businessmen I know is a high school dropout with a GED. A really great guy. He's a "suit" and he carries a sizeable pocketknife too. No big deal, he grew up out in the country and always had one on him.

Well, thanks for bringing this to our attention. I have delt with metal detectors in the past at County fairs ect... Most of the time I totally forget I have a knife so I just go back and put it in the car. I won't judge someone's opinion to security measures, after all we live in a sue happy world. Don't want knives in the park, fine, whatever. Confiscation of personal property..um that equals theft and someone who has had that happen should sue &%$# out of the park.
As for AB beer, never liked it anyway.

This really is stupid. Every time I read about stuff like this it wrecks my day. As far as I am concerned the people making these rules have crap for brains.

I replied in another thread the other day re: amusement parks banning what They want.Over 5 years ago I was informed by Kennywood Park here in Pittsburgh that I couldn't carry My Gun,knife or badge in Their park.I was already there so I put the stuff in My car and haven't been back there since. And I won't,ever!Remember the old saying "Just say No!"? Well just say no to Sea World,Budweiser,Block Buster Video,Tandy Leather Co. ,Burger KIng and all the rest of these self appointed P.C. institutions.Vote with Your wallet. They'll get the message.tom.

I wonder if this SeaWorld anti-knife policy is restricted to California or are ALL the SeaWorlds enforcing this ridiculous policy.

It's sad to think that this is what America has been reduced to after 9-11. Sea World, yeah, that's a place high on a terrorists list.

Think about this though. Six Flags Great Adventure in NJ has had this "no knives or contraband" policy in effect since the late Eighties. I was stationed at McGuire AFB, NJ, only 5 miles from Great Adventure. I purchased a season pass for that year and on my first visit I was shocked to learn that my SAK Recruit that I had on my keychain at the time was going to be confiscated. I had told them that I would take it off and put it in my car.

It was at this point that I was told that I would have to remove the knife and hand it over. I was not even in the park! I was at the gate waiting in line to get in. I made a big fuss and explained that I use this in my duties at the military base and I produced my ID card as proof that I was in the Air Force. A supervisor had shown up on scene during all this and stepped in. I was told that I was on their property and that I would be ARRESTED if I did not hand over the knife. I blatantly told them to go Phuck themselves and walked away when I was detained until the local cops arrived. Complete BS. The officer who arrived was apprised of the situation and I pleaded my case to him. After about 10 minutes he told me that I was free to go.....with my knife. But I was not allowed into the park, ever. I could not even get a refund for the season pass that I brought a week earlier. Bastids! Since that day I have not stepped foot into ANY Six Flags park. Screw them.

Double post.....sorry. :D

"Look around," he said. "Most people here don't meet the idea of the terrorist. I mean, you saw the pictures of what they looked like. The terrorists are Middle Eastern. It's kind of easy to tell who they are. People here are normal. I think (SeaWorld) is doing this because they want to make people feel safe."

No one else that reacted to this? to me this man is a moron, yes, the terrorists of the WTC were from the Middle East, but do anyone thinks that terrorist organizations doesn't understand concealment or that there aren't people that look non-Middle East willing to do harm?
McVeigh of the Oklahoma bombing was American? at least he wasn't looking Middle East or suspicious, right?

If it was that easy to spot terrorists and/or mentally deranged people then we wouldn't have any problems.

It's not a war against race, it's against people. My hope of a light in this dark event is a global joint operation between countries and states to fight terrorism in anyway and everyway possible, to show that terrorism doesn't pay in other way then with a relentless search and destroy of those gulity of these horrible deeds.
Working together will [hopefully] bring understanding, friendship and reduce the safe havens for these cretins to hide in.

Just my 2 cents and not meant in any way to critizise mnblade.

Ladies and gentlemen, what we are seeing is just the beginning. Any moron knows that if a terrorist organization had it's mind set on a place like SeaWorld, it wouldn't commit an act that would require knives. SeaWorld if full of people, and as an entertainment theme park it represents a big evil to the terrorists. IMO a place like SeaWorld would only be targeted for something that would kill as many of our fellow Americans as possible. This would not be accomplished by knives, and telling their customers that they cannot bring their knives into the park does nothing to prevent that.

What we are seeing is a bunch of liberal idiots in positions of power realizing that this is the perfect excuse to take our knives away. If our knives are taken, and nobody makes a stink, well then nobody should make a stink about taking our guns (I'm not just talking about theme parks anymore). Of course, if it's okay to take our knives and guns in certain public and private situations, then it should be okay for them to go into our homes and take them from us.

It starts small, people. We cannot allow this to continue. For Christmas this year I'll be getting my Dad a membership to the NRA, and myself a renewal and a membership to the AKTI. Hopefully they will both come out soon and stand up for us.

But like has been said over, and over by many now: "...from my cold, dead hands!" Hopefully it won't come to that.

PS: You'd think (as logic would dictate) that more Americans would want to see everyone carry a pocket knife. Might just prevent another 9-11.

You will find as time goes that most of these hysterical bans we are seeing are only the tip of the iceberg. Using 9/11 as an excuse it makes it much easier to implement new procedures in there relentless pursuit to disarm and control us. What better way then to keep playing the terrorist card in taking more and more things away from law abiding citizens and if you speak out against these rights violations then your considered un-american.

While I would agree the theme parks/zoos/etc. have the right to try to protect themselves from terror/bioterror, they are definitely going about it the wrong way, aren't they? Knives have NOTHING to do with it.

In fact, I'm not sure what they COULD do to prevent an anthrax/hoof and mouth/???? attack or scare. This stuff could be concealed in just about any small container, or even (in the case of hoof and mouth) tracked in on one's shoes. But are they requiring people to step in bleach shoe-baths or using some kind of molecular sniffing devices to find bio agents? I don't think these things are entirely effective or even exist...

So it's "impress the sheeple with our safety plans" BS.

DON'T YA FEEL SAFER NOW THAT THEY'RE "DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT?!"

Disgustedly,

Karl

This is Ludicrous! How could any park feel that they have the right to demand your personal property just because you happen to be seeking entrance to their grounds. To my knowledge, the ONLY authority they have is to deny you entrance. Security may perhaps detain you until the police arrive, but I don't know where the law sits on their (security personnel) use of physical force to do so if you are not actively posing a physical threat.

If I were in the situation, I would not give up my personal property just because "manager" said I had to. I would continue to be POLITE but inflexible... I'm not giving them anything. If they don't want me in their park, fine. I'm willing to turn around and go home. But I certainly want my money back. If they were insistant about me giving up my pocketknife, then I would insist on the police being involved to prevent theft. I wonder though, how LEOs would react to a similar situation nowadays. Would they be sympathetic or be on the PC bandwagon?
