Here is the repsonse from SeaWorld to my email regarding their policy:
Thank you for your email. While our sincere desire is to please every guest,
our first commitment is for the safety of the millions of guests that visit us
each year. Therefore, since the first day we opened our gates in 1964, our
policy is to prohibit weapons, including knives, from entering the park. We do,
however, permit first responders, i.e. a sworn, recognized law enforcement
officer to retain their assigned weapon during their visit.
In heightening our security, we have included bag checks in our daily
operational security procedures.
To allow guests the opportunity to decide if they wish to enter the park within
our guidelines, we distribute the following flyer at our tollbooths. "Please be
aware you will have your bags inspected by our staff and metal detection
equipment may be in use. You can assist this process by leaving all
non-essential items including large bags, backpacks and metal objects in your
vehicle. As a reminder weapons, knives or any other sharp objects are not
permitted in the park."
If we can assist you in the future, please feel free to call our toll free
number at 1-800-25-SHAMU or email us at SWC.GuestRelations@Seaworld.com
