seal knife 2000

My current inventory of SEAL knives include, the trident folder if you can even consider that a SEAL series, the Tigershark and the SEAL revolver. As much as I like the 2000, I'm pretty covered with what I have.
However, when i get another SOG, the question is SEAL2000 or Gov-Tac...hmmm ;)

Cheers,

Guard...

That knife on "Lost" is the Tigershark... I know this for certian beacuse I sent it to them. I actually talked to Terry O'Quinn on the phone about it and he is a great guy.

Wow! That's nice. I kept peering close at the screen to try to see the knife's brand, though I suspected it had to be a tigershark or the SEAL knife 2000!

Hmm not sure if this is right because ever since I started looking at knives i have seen the seal knife 2000 alot. Could anyone tell me if they have ever seen the knife in the game Grand Theth Auto?!

I have a Seal 2000. I like it. It's sturdy, has good balance and has nice fit and finish. I've only had it for a couple weeks so I can't comment on usability yet.

I picked up a SEAL 2K a couple of months ago. The price was right and I've wanted one for a few years now. God-damn is it sharp. That's one thing I've noticed about the 3 SOGs that I own (SEAL2K, Trident Folder & AirSOG) that they were (and still are) stupid, scary sharp from the get go. I love the SEAL2K's sheath as well. I'm also thinking about buying another just to make sure I'll always have one. I haven't used it in the "field" yet... but I'm pretty sure it'll perform well.

I wouldn't worry too much about rusting and such. It is a stainless steel, which means it is less-inclined to rust because of the chromium content.

Just keep the SEAL 2000 hosed down with oil and you'll be OK. By "oil" I mean some type of rust-preventative such as WD-40 or DuraLube or something like that.

I'd be surprised if this knife really rusted. If I remember correctly one of the criteria to pass the SEAL knife competition was a 14 day salt water immersion test. Only one knife did better: The titanium MPK (retails about $350) so its a pretty good deal.
TUF-cloth and any good gun oil/lubricant work really well too.

Sharp move (pun intended). I doubt it will happen, but it's possible that one day your fave SOG might get retired and then it's going to get ugly on eBay.

...just ask all the people out there who knew, absolutely knew the Gerber Mark II dagger would never, ever get discontinued. Man, I wish I'd bought a half-dozen of them. Ditto with the SOG Desert Dagger, especially after Kill Bill.

I was lucky enough to get a Mark II back in the early 80's. I bought a Mark I and Guardian at the same time. I wish I'd bought more... but who knew?

gerber has to have some form of retardation for not bringing the MarkII back. I would definitely buy one (or 2, or 3,... :))

Ditto. Especially if they brought back the "old style" versions made from tool steel with the wasp waist. Cutlery Shoppe had some exclusive versions that were sweet.

The cause of the retardation is simple. Gerber isn't Gerber anymore. It's a subsidiary of Fiskars. Fiskars, as we know from their own press material is

...the world’s leading manufacturer of scissors, gardening tools and cutlery, as well as other consumer products sold under the brand names including FISKARS®, Gerber Legendary Blades®, Royal® Floor Mats, Home Leisure®, Planterra®, Power Sentry®, Newpoint®, Montana®, Raadvad, Sankey and Ebert.

Still, Gerber's marketing department deserves some credit. This is one of the best indictments of our society I've ever seen.
