Search feature not working?

Search is choking on: benchmade skirmish

std or adv search. "skirmish" alone works. "benchmade" alone does not. I'm sure benchmade is a pretty popular term, but if you cant search on a make + model, search isnt very helpful.

Not many, but that wasn't why I posted. I thought someone might care that the search feature doesnt work right and that a specific example might help.
 
Yeah, we do appreciate specific examples. That's the way the vBulletin internal search function works, though -- it can't handle common words like "knife" or "benchmade" without getting overloaded....
 
Cool, yeah I'm not trying to bust anyone's balls at all. I'm just new, trying to learn, and frustrated by the inabilty to search some times.

It CAN work though. Unfortunately I dont know how, but this other forum I'm on uses this same software, has literally millions of posts and you can still search on the most common terms so long as they are greater than three letters.

Try searching for "wheel" "engine" or "tire" . It would be the equivilent of searching for "blade" or "steel" here.

My guess is they have more hardware resources relative to their search traffic so they can configure the search function differently.
