Searching for a New Rescue Tool.

Curious...I have a Leatherman MUT. This tool has a strap cutter and a hammer; I wonder if the hammer could break tempered glass...

Never tried breaking glass with the MUT but that sucker is HEAVY. I used it a couple of times for M4 malfunction clearance but eventually went back to my light Skeletool CX mostly due to weight. Ounces add up to pounds...

you need a small point for tempered glass. you could epoxy a bit of industrial diamond to nearly anything to make it a glass-breaker.

Be careful with auctions for the Vic rescue tool, lots of fakes out there.

Checkout the Blackhawk HawkHook. I have one in my car and it seems pretty sturdy. There's a youtube vid somewhere of someone demoing the glass breaker.

I ended up trying the new Benchmade SOCP Rescue and did not like it...just didn't feel good in my hand. I ended up getting the Gerber cutter/breaker for my duty bag and have been carrying the Raptor in my pocket. I also keep a CRKT M16-12ER in my EDC bag and sometimes carry a CRKT M16-13ZLEK as an EDC.
